GOOD CATCH!!!!!!

I agree that the detail should have shown that there were insurgents in the mix, however strictly speaking they all were "Iraqi citizens", just not all "Iraqi civilians".

TIME and McGirk were the ones that labeled them as 24 innocent Iraqi civilians, and the SJAs, JAG, and NCIS, along with Winter and his scummy crew in DoD failed miserably to correct that initial mistake, and indeed maintained the fiction.

"Maybe we should all chip in and buy Winter a clue. Say, that’s really not a bad idea. How’s about a billboard right near his office??????????????????"
Sounds good to me mom. Today. I had off. Still had to go to a store meeting between 8PM-10PM. Now I have to get up at 3:30AM to be in at 5AM. Of lately with car problems and having to purchase a 2004 to replace my old junker, and other gotchas, been off the boards a bit. But thanks for the ping.

What got me about Conway's statement was that after he gave a lame excuse for handing down letters of reprimand to Marine officers he admits were excellent, loyal Marine officers, he talks about the criminally charged Haditha Marines this way:

"Allegations against all Marines are taken seriously" and ""should not detract from the dedication and sacrifice exhibited by Marines."

Conway then adds:

"The vast majority of Marines continue to serve with bravery, honor, and distinction."

freema, I read that statemnet carefully several times and I can't shake the feeling that those words sound like weasel words to me. It sounds like Conway had already thrown the Haditha Marines under the bus and was telling the world not to let a small handful of bad apples "detract" from the "vast majority" of good Marines.

(Thanks for that link, btw.)

" It is sad to see that even the Marine Corps has become polluted by the filthiness of the hate-America crowd."

Perhaps, a few... Almost impossible to avoid...

However - my history and observations to date, permits me to remain confident that at the core it's still the Corps....

I'll patiently await the FINAL decisions and their JUSTIFICATION for whatever decision is handed down before I start losing faith.....

brit, check out all the "unknown persons" SSgt Wuterich was charged with killing - Specification 1) "one or more unknown persons at the taxi", and the now dropped Specification 13 "six unknown persons in House 1" in Red's post 105

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1993201/posts?page=125#105

All the other dead persons have names.

If these were all Iraqis, reportedly residents, students, and a really stupid taxi driver, the locals shoulda been able to ID them, no?

If they were the Syrian jihadists that Major Dinsmore had just briefed the platoon about along with intel about a white car whose sudden presence would signal the start of insurgent activity by said Syrian jihadists, it would easily explain why the government (along with our new, shadow government) either can't or is reluctant to name the stiffs.

This would also explain the suitcase with the fake passports, and why the suitcase disappeared while in the custody of the government.

It would also add to the many, many reasons the goverments(all of 'em) so desperately want to keep Major Dinsmore out of the courtroom, and maybe have something to do with why LtCol Sullivan won't let anyone ask Mendoza anything except him.

Just guessing, but I think it'd sure change things if word got out that alot of the stiffs were known Syrian terrorists (and maybe a wife shield and kid shield or two) and the government is trying to keep that under wraps.

thank you, now I see the wisdom of getting to trial.

Thanks again. I just didn’t figure Mattis for a “ticket puncher”.

I agree; sad to say our whole criminal justice system — both military and civilian — has been undermined by self-serving miscreants. Here in Philly the local DA refused to charge union members caught on TV video tape assaulting peaceful protesters at a clinton campaign stop, and instead brought a case against them.

This Haditha case is the clearest, and cleanest, case of over-reach by an out of control judiciary that I have seen so far, and is emblematic to the entire system. Duke Lacrosse was another, and I hope that the Nazario case will be also. Don’t get me wrong, we have good laws; we’ve allowed bad men to take control of them. Hopefully full exposure will turn most of it around, and they’ll see the folly of using civilian rules in a battlefield scenario.

“We are now experiencing the consequences of voters who haven’t the common sense or the common good in mind to value their opinion on ANY manner — most especially our political leaders..

If the electorate of today - “feels” the three stooges before us today represents the best among us - it says more about the electorate than I wanted to know!”
