SANTA ROSA - A teenager learned it is not a good idea to try to rob a former U.S. Marine at knifepoint, no matter how old he is.
Santa Rosa police Sgt. Steve Bair said an 84-year-old man was walking on Fourth Street with a grocery bag in each arm when the boy approached him with a large knife at about 2 p.m. Wednesday.
"Old man, give me your wallet or I'll cut you," the boy said.
The man said he was a former Marine who fought in three wars and had been threatened with knives and bayonets before.
The 84-year-old put his bags on the ground and told the boy that if he stepped closer he would be sorry. When the boy stepped closer, the man kicked him in the groin, knocking the youth to the sidewalk.
The ex-Marine picked up his grocery bags and walked home, leaving the teen doubled over.
Seen the video of this reporting but cant remember from where. He also kicked the guy in the teeth when he tried to get back up.....
There are no EX Marines. Only In-Active Marines...
Too bad he didn’t perform a vasectomy on the little sh!thead on the spot. But good show! Semper fi.
Semper Fi, Do or Die! Oohrah!!

“There are no EX Marines. Only In-Active Marines...”
BS!
This is just new age mARINE bs—Marines thru WWII/and Korea proudly referred to themselves and others as Ex-Marines!—and still do—that is, those still around not harasse4d by online newbies.
Left him layin’ there...
Ha! Good man!
Thank you
Really?
The Marines are “new age”? Whodathunk it?
The report said he was retired Airborne. He had a Sreaming Eagle patch on his wind breaker.
He was retired Army.
Easy there big fellow. I'm a newbie with only 23 years in the Navy (counting as a Midshipman) and have been hearing this "former Marine" statement from Marines from the very beginning.
Its just semantics, but I think we all understand the sentiment. It certainly applies to every Marine I've known, that they consider their time in the USMC as more than a passing job they once had.
Now please have your coffee, uncharge the M2, and have a pleasant FReeper day.
Good for him. You know Marines are just different, and this one should be on TV to inspire manly virtues that are so greatly lacking in our PC world today.
Personally us new age Marines (1975-86) prefer to think of ourselves as Marine Veterans.
I believe that any modifier placed in front of the Title United States Marine is purposely put there to somehow diminish the Title Marine. EX-Marine is especially insulting because it is akin to ex-communicated, Ex-patriot or EX-Con.
And I have known a great many WWII and Korea vets and almost none of them think of themselves as EX anything especially not EX-veterans.
Awesome! Bump!
Just watched the outtakes DVD of History Channel’s “Mail Call” last night. Too funny.
