I disagree. I blame the terrorists for what happened. And I'm not going to wrap myself in enough tin foil to believe conspiracy theories that the airlines knowingly put their people, customers and valuable airplanes at risk.

The Philippines affair wasn't enough to stir the US government security agencies out of their lethargy, much less executives preoccupied with running an airline. I'd rely more on The Looming Tower than Wikipedia for my history of the whole sorry story.
