Susan Estrich: Changing the Minds of Superdelegates

LOS ANGELES — I had to laugh last weekend watching New Mexico Governor and superdelegate Bill Richardson, who was everywhre endorsing Barack Obama, taking a moralistic stance on superdelegates respecting the will of the people.

Come again. Which people?

Would that be the people of his home state, who he will actually be “representing” at the convention, or the people of the 48 states that will be allowed to vote on the first Credentials Challenge, or the people of the 50 states who will be voting if Hillary ultimately has even one more vote than Obama on the question of seating Florida and Michigan?

High-minded moral questions about respecting the will of the people don’t usually lend themselves so easily to the multiple choice approach! Of course, the people of New Mexico handed Hillary Clinton a very comfortable victory, as did the people of Massachusetts, which isn’t, and shouldn’t be, stopping superdelegates Bill Richardson and Ted Kennedy from casting their votes for Barack Obama.

Yeah, which people? He certainly couldn’t mean the taxpayers of Texas when he aided and abetted and harbored the chicken RATs of Texas who ran away from their sworn duties and hid out drinking maragitas by the Holiday Inn pool. Any higher aspirations he might have will recieve pay back from voters in Texas.

Another factually challenged Dim. If he is a "superdelegate", then he was not selected to carry his states votes to the convention as a direct proxy. He was selected to render a decision based on his supposed judgment, as an agent, but not a direct representative, of the Dim voters.

She’s had a lot of plastic surgery!

She wasted her time. Her ugly has always come from the inside.

It needs to be repeated over and over and over again that Willie Horton was first used by Al Gore in the primaries.

I showed that picture to my wife and nephew. They didn’t believe that the picture and the revised and updated Estrich were the same person.

I would bet that picture was the cause for her cosmetic surgery and her hiring a coach on how not to look like a shrew hag under the camera.

“If he is a “superdelegate”, then he was not selected to carry his states votes to the convention as a direct proxy. “

Only the subdelegates are required to vote that way.
