Here is information on a current issue. Cape Hatteras National Seashore Recreational Area has always had a mission (founding purpose) that included (1) providing access to the public (including by Off Road Vehicle), and (2) the protection of wildlife. It is a North Carolina-located national treasure, and is under threat to be closed to the public due to a lawsuit filed by the Defenders of Wildlife and the National Audobon Society.
