Of course, you may need to enable Javascript to use it.
Look in the top right-hand corner. There’s a box (not labeled search) with a “go” button to the right. You can type in the search term and then choose from a drop-down menu below whether you want to search by Keyword, Title, User, etc.
In the box on the upper right, with a Go button to the right of it, click on the words in the box, normally “news-forum.”
A second box will appear below that box, which is the search box. Go on from there.
You have to log on first.
I’ve also found using advanced search www.freerepublic.com with google works pretty well, too...This pulls up ancient FR pages no longer on FR’s server. Remember back before they split replies into 50 per page? I’ve pulled up articles from 2002 and even earlier using this method (not sure if 1998-2000 can still be accessed thru google.)
it’s still there but I find that I cannot ever find posts when I search anyways so I just stopped using it. I’m surprised we don’t have an epidemic of duplicate posts because its sometimes impossible to find the prior posts.
For instance, is it really possible that nobody posted the Slate story about Doug Kmiec endorsing Obama? Can’t find his name though via the search function
WE NEEAD A “SEARCH FUNCTION” TO FIND THE SEARCH FUNCTION.............
