Why isn’t Sanford in the poll? I’ve seen more mentions of him than anyone else.

Grammy T is right:

"McCain needs a CONSISTENT moral conservative VP with chief executive experience to make up for McCain's deficiencies.

There is NO WAY many on the religious right will vote if Romney is on the ticket. It has NOTHING to do with his religion and EVERYTHING to do with his record. He's a data driven flip-flopper that will say whatever it takes to get elected. He appointed liberal activist judges in Massachusetts. His health care program is no different than Hillary's. Romney's approval record was so bad he would not have been reelected. Yet, WE are supposed to want this guy???

Huckabee has a proven record of getting major improvements done frugally. He did this in a BLUE state without compromising moral values. He appointed conservative judges. His health care program, education program, etc. is being copied. His fast thinking help for the Hurricane Katrina victims was amazing.

If it weren't for the "conservative" leaders half truths and outright lies about Huckabee and half truth and false positive comments about Romney; we would have a genuine conservative candidate instead of McCain. Romney was the spoiler; and he had plenty of "conservative" leaders' help.

If McCain can't pick a genuine consistent moral value conservative; I'll vote Independent. If Romney is ANYWHERE on the GOP ticket; I'll come to the conclusion that the Republican Party no longer wants consistent moral values of the religious right. Fred Barnes was wrong. Romney is unacceptable to anyone that has done the research. "

But then again I tend to doubt that many Christians will vote for McCain regardless of who becomes his VP. I cannot imagine JC or Huck accepting, if asked. I cannot fathom a Born Again Christian serving in a McCain adminstation.

It has to be Romney logically. Unless we can find some likeable Conservative who can deliver one or both of Big Boys in PA or MI.

OR we need to help BO get the nomination, and then Mac cruises in to WH. Since anti-BO hatefest is not going to stop, best bet is to find a Conservative who looks like he can back up Mac if his health fails and delivers one of the Big Blue States as Hildabeast WILL flip Arkansas, Iowa, New Mexico and Ohio. Colorado and Nevada are probably goners too and Missouri and Virginia would be pushed to the brink.

Romney has some native son cache in MI and psychotic love affair from Talk Radio Verbahideen. He is young, capitalist, experienced, successful and has convinced Conservative Powers that he is “Conservative’s Conservative”. He seems to be the right man for the job at this moment in time.

However, I am not sure he is at all likeable. That could prove to be disastrous.

Yeah, he ought to at least be listed. Though I would still take Romney.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, regardless of how dumb, ignorant, and unfounded it is.

the good thing about Romney is he is pretty much vetted. The bad news is that he is Romney.

But he did end up growing on me. I think he will be a good VP candidate.

I view these things very generally in terms of popular reaction. Romney would be viewed as a known and tested commodity with executive experience who is attractive and could step in as president if needed. He also would flout conventional wisdom thata woman or minority is needed to win. Some people like that, they are reassured knowing they don’t have to follow CW or political correctness. I think it would be an attractive ticket. Romney is young but not too young and he doesn’t make major gaffes.

And where is Chris Cox’s name? He’s from California, a large electoral vote state.

Huckabee yesterday excused Jeremiah Wright’s sermons. That’s Christian and conservative?

What, he want’s me to vote for Mr. Greater Evil and Mr. Lesser Evil? No, thanks.

So Huckabee approves Wright’s message?

It’s not a “stakes” it’s a non-scientific poll. No one even bet any money on the outcome.

Romney spent all those millions and still couldn’t win over poorer and less qualified candidates.

He will drag the McCain ticket down.

No way. Please. I want a win in November.

There is no way mccain could pick the type of VP that would convince me to vote for him.

Luckily, if Obama is the nominee I won;t even have to feel bad about not voting for mccain - since even without my vote he’ll pull 48 states.

Romney is a stiff. A loser. He was default elected once. He has no coat tails save Utah. He toxic south of the Massachusetts Rhode Island border.
