Irrelevant indeed. Why would ANYONE take seriously a lecture on race relations from a man who for twenty years belonged to and supported an openly racist institution? For the problem at Obama’s church goes well beyond Obama’s close association with the rabid, foaming-at-the-mouth hate-whitey/hate America pastor Wright. When Wright mocked the disappearance and almost certain death of missing white teenager Holloway, the “congregation” laughed, applauded and shouted approval. When Wright trumpeted the lurid blood libel that White America invented AIDS to kill Africans, the audience stomped its feet in mindless approbation. The very ethos of Obama’s church was poisoned with vehement racism and hatred. Obama chose to expose his innocent children to this toxic atmosphere. No, thanks Mr. Obama. No sermons from you.

It is extremely offensive, not to mention asinine, to refer to this speech as having anything to do with "courage" -- it took no courage AT ALL to try to salvage one's political campaign from revelations that the candidate has been intimately associated with a blatantly racist preacher and church for 20+ years. All that Obambi tried to do was to change the subject and re-frame the discussion in ways favorable to his candidacy, while throwing his loving white grandmother under the bus.

It is even more offensive to babble about "courage" in such a context when so many thousands of US troops are in harm's way every day right now. Obambi knows absolutely nothing about courage -- and I do not mean only the courage of the battlefield, he knows nothing of courage in a moral context or a political context. He has led a sheltered, pampered life (like most of us) and has never had to brave any large risks or confront any real dangers to self or career. Most certainly this speech bore no relation to any form of courage.....

So well said I had to re-post it in bold!! Few things can totally amaze me anymore in the drivel that pours forth from the MSM, but for them to refer to Obambi's lightweight speech as a "profile in courage" truly astonishes me. It is insane, even for them.

The more I think about Obama and his “historic” “throw Granny from the train speech”, the madder I get.

How dare Barack lecture me about race. How dare he tell me that those of us that were a part of the Reagan Revolution did so because we were racists!!!

Listen Barack, you didn’t give that speech because you WANTED to. You gave that speech because you HAD to. And why was that Barack? I’ll tell you why! It was because you sat under the teachings of a rabid racist for 2 DECADES!!!! You Barack! NOT me!

Don’t lecture me. I’ve spent my years as a white mother teaching my kids, in the words of MLK, to judge someone not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. If you can’t stand up to Rev. Wright, how in the world can we trust you to stand up to Ahmadinejad, Bin Laden or Chavez? The answer is, we can’t! And when I think about it, the only difference between YOUR pastor and these guys, are their addresses. ALL of them hate America and Israel and all of them do it in the name of God!

I have judged the content of your character by those whose company you CHOOSE to keep and I find it to be severely lacking! My prayer is that America will do the same in the privacy of the voting booth.
