Playing by Obama's rules (AND WHY RUSH WAS RIGHT)
World Net Daily ^ | March 14, 2008 | Patrick J. Buchanan

To observe Democrats this week, savaging one of their heroines, is to understand why the party is unready to rule.

What Barack's allies seem to be demanding is immunity, a special exemption from political attack, because he is African-American. And those who go after him are to be brought up on charges of racism, as has Bill Clinton, Ed Rendell and now Geraldine Ferraro.

Hillary, hoping to appease Barack's constituency, is ceding the point. Will the Republican Party and the right do the same? Play by Obama rules, and you lose to Obama.

What Barack's allies seem to be demanding is immunity, a special exemption from political attack, because he is African-American. And those who go after him are to be brought up on charges of racism, as has Bill Clinton, Ed Rendell and now Geraldine Ferraro.

That pretty much sums it up.

While the level of criticism against Rush (as well as those of us who crossed over to vote for The Beast) has subsided somewhat (I would imagine, because the strategy to keep her in the running, thus creating chaos, tumult and confusion among the Dhummies appears to be having the desired affect) the primary reason for having kept her in the race was that most of us (Rush included) knew that in addition to his having the Lame Stream Media openly favoring his candidacy, his African American Heritage (Race trumps Gender) would automatically immunize him from any criticism or attack, less those who dare challenge him on any level would be branded as racists and bigots.

That is in fact has come to pass as we have seen.

Barack ("Peace Be Upon His Middle No Name") Obama—aka B.O.—(though he was not so reticent to use his middle name when it was to his advantage) does not want anyone referring to him as H----- and everyone, including McPain, fall all over themselves to disavow and harshly condemn anyone who dares utter his name.

B.O. declares his Muslim heritage off limits and shazam, everyone now referrers to him as a good Christian and it is verboten to even suggest any different.

B.O. does not want anyone to challenge him on his association with his Hate-America-Ultra-Left-Openly-Racist Minister and no one (other than bloggers) dares suggest there exists any “guilt by association)

And on and on and on.

I know the reaction I will get from this is that it does not make any difference, for McLame can challenge him on the “issues;” B.O.’s proposals to tax and spend; his willingness to meet and greet leaders of terrorist countries without preconditions; his intent to pull out of Iraq, etc.

REALLY?

What is the RNC doing? They are scared witless and trying to conceive a strategy to attack B.O., without seeming to be “attacking” him. Yeah, good luck!!

What about the Republican “presumptive nominee?” I must admit to date, he has attacked vigorously. Unfortunately, his targets have been Republicans and Conservatives—NOT, B.O.

All he can conceive is how best to “reach across the aisle,” and pledge to run a “ethical campaign.” Read: He WILL not go after B.O., regardless.

Are there any Conservative pundits out there who are making a concerted effort to go after B.O. ? None that I am aware of. They are all walking on egg shells.

Who does that leave to seriously challenge B.O.? Well, the answer is obvious; Her Thigness and her supporters, toadies and advisers.

While she distanced herself from Feraro’s comments and allowed Geraldine to fall on her sword and withdraw, she nevertheless has many more sycophants who are willing and able to challenge B.O.-—the Republicans, have none.

“Play by Obama rules, and you lose to Obama.”

I don't know, to me he went from a nice guy to a scum bag in sixty seconds.

Obama is a creepy-bastard by just being Obama. Attacking Ferraro? What good is that? I don't like her politics, but she is seems to be a decent professor type.

If anyone thinks this will stop the minute he becomes President...ha! If he steals directly from the White House safe, he’ll be beyond reproach. No way can you say anything or you’re a racist.

Can't stand her politics (though she is far from many other lib bomb-throwers) but when she speaks the truth, she (as an elder spokesperson for the Dhimi Party) gets thrown under the bus--which is deliciously ironic in that it is the DemoRats who have for years, pushed Affirmative Action and now that it is coming back to bite them on the a** they are just besides themselves on how to best attack it while appearing to be supportive of same.

How sweet it is.

Going to get me some more Heineken and P-nuts--getting tired of popcorn, already. lol

He seems to be a criminal. I think Hillary knows more dirt and will release more on him after the Ferraro fiasco calms.

This Ferraro fiasco is makes Obama look bad. Next Monday, after this slows, something new will come up... on and on.

One would hope its calculated. When your enemies are ripping at each others eyes, its often best to just watch. November is still eight months out. Conservatives should be holding their fire (except a little nudge here and there) until the Democratic fratricidal bloodletting begins to subside. Then, hopefully, their will be some clearly vulnerable wounds that we can rub salt in, and a bad knee to kick at.

The downside is that the GOP is now populated by jellyfish that will likely run to apply band-aides instead.

Last night I watched McCain being interviewed regarding Obama's "preacher" controversy and McCain tripped all over his tongue trying to be Mr. Nice Guy.

I don’t agree that he is demanding immunity or a special exemption from anything. This would be true, if he was reciprocating with the attacks, but he is not...at least yet.

That’s why he’s so dangerous... Any proposal he tries to run through congress will have to be approved, else it’s racst (intentionally mis-spelled).

It is all about the surrogates with the conservatives. We can carry the day- while McCain (although not the first choice) pulls in the independent votes.

Absolutely correct and excellent strategy, IF we could expect any such actions by the R's. However, your next observation and qualifier:

"The downside is that the GOP is now populated by jellyfish that will likely run to apply band-aides instead.

Makes my point.

You, I, and many others have serious reservations as to this every happening.

Pastor Preposterous [John Derbyshire]

It’s nice that Jeremiah Wright, Senator Obama’s pastor for twenty years, has been getting some air time. People still seem reluctant to acknowledge, though, the thing I said yesterday: that Wright’s views are not extraordinary or “unorthodox” among black Americans. In that milieu, they are pretty mainstream, and Senator Obama must be scratching his head and wondering what the fuss is about.

For example, Bill O’Reilly was hyperventilating on the telly last night about Wright’s having said, in a sermon, that HIV is a man-made virus, deliberately spread by the U.S. government in a plot to exterminate black people. In fact, a lot of black Americans believe this. Here is a 2005 poll showing that:

Almost half of all African-Americans believe that HIV, the virus that causes Aids, is man-made, more than a quarter believe it was produced in a government laboratory and one in eight think it was created and spread by the CIA, according to a study released by Rand Corporation and the University of Oregon.
I have no doubt that non-black Americans would be willing to vote for a black American as president. Not many of us, however, would be willing to vote for a candidate who thought of himself as black first and American second. That such people exist is proved by the success of Jeremiah Wright — and by the applause of his congregation.

Is Barack Obama such a person? If he is not, why has he been such a loyal member of that congregation, making five-figure donations to Wright’s church at least as late as 2006? Calling on Wright to bless his marriage and his house, and baptize his children? Using a passage from one of Wright’s sermons as the title of his second book?

On the campaign trail, Obama has certainly not come across as a white-hating, America-hating black radical. A man can be known, though, by the company he keeps. Obama has been keeping some mighty weird company.

Does the Senator believe, as his revered pastor does (and as that pastor’s congregation apparently does too) that HIV was made in a government lab? Perhaps someone should ask him. Perhaps someone should have been asking this stuff six months ago.

And exactly what would one expect when we are thought to believe that a minority should be given special dispensations for being sub-par?

Oh ... they aren't sub-par?

Then why the special dispensation?

You say it is because of the majorities past transgressions? How nice.

Seems those vultures have come home to roost.

Independent voter = mindless schmuck who will vote for whoever the MSM tells them to. It won't be McCain.

Can political analysts explain why Barack will sweep Philly in the Pennsylvania primary, though Hillary has the backing of the African-American mayor and Gov. Ed Rendell, without referring to Barack's ethnic appeal to black voters?

That is probably true BUT Rendell will make sure that he doesn't get the extra 25% Black fraud vote the democrat candidate usually gets in a national election
