Compared to victims of childhood physical abuse and neglect, victims of childhood sexual abuse are at greater risk of being arrested for one type of sex crime: prostitution...Among children who were sexually abused, the odds are 27.7 times higher than for the control group of being arrested for prostitution as an adult.

It's a stunning statistic; and, you're right, there's simply nothing humorous about it
Good stuff, thanks for the information.

I briefly read the biography of the now famous Kristen, and guess what:
From a “broken home”. Left for good at age 17. No discussion of her parents. None. Her hero is her brother who had left this apparently totally dysfunctional family at an early age also, some years prior to Kristen.
Abysmally sad. Familial sexual abuse? Probably. The breakdown of the nuclear family is THE fundamental problem afflicting modern society, and not just in America.
Additionally, the abhorrent vermin (johns)that prey on these young women, (and I don’t care how much they pay or how “mutually consenting” the “tranasaction” is), should be as equally condemned as the deficient parents.
Sorry, but sex is not just like buying a beer. It has fundamental ties to our humanity, and is not something that is meant to be tossed off as a trifle.
