Farewell to Family?
The New York Sun ^ | March 11, 2008 | Editorial

It sounds like a throwback to the heights of political correctness of the early 1990s, but it's actually happening here in New York City in 2008: The Prospect Park Alliance has renamed its annual, much loved "Family Day" event as "Members Spring Fest." To rub salt in the wounds of family-loving Brooklynites, a "save the date" postcard notes in small print that the event is "formerly known as Family Day."

So much for family values in Brooklyn, is the apparent decision of the Prospect Park Alliance board. That group of eminent New Yorkers includes Mayor Bloomberg's daughter Emma; Mr. Bloomberg's Parks Commissioner, Adrian Benepe; his finance commissioner, Martha Stark; and his former transportation commissioner, Iris Weinshall (who is Mrs. Senator Schumer).

We're all for making the park, one of New York City's jewels, welcoming to all law-abiding New Yorkers. But New Yorkers are a strong-willed bunch, not the ... shrinking violets that the Alliance authorities take them for. Those of us who are families of one, or of two, or nontraditional families, are still families. Taking the "family" out of Family Day redefines the word family in a way that is far more exclusionary than an event named Family Day. What's next — the renaming of Members Spring Fest in a way that doesn't offend non-members, people who prefer Autumn, and those who like being sad rather than festive?

No. Next is sending you to the gas chambers to save sacred mother gaia from the speciesist onslaught of your breath.

They are genocidal maniacs, and you have coddled them into existence for two generations. Reap the whirlwind and die, as the Party requires.

“Real families” should NOT show up. If we “support” such nonsense then we can’t cry when it changes.

Lefties don’t like the concept of family. The idea that genetically related, multi generational, persons could form a close nit self-supporting unit is too exclusionary to abortion survivors.

“Real families” get eliminated if they don't show up. The “others” take over the event and change it purpose. The “others” could stage there own event and let the Family Day alone, but that's not good enough. The displace an established routine and call themselves “diverse”.

Not only that but strong close knit families share a value system. Strong family units are mostly conservative. Put them all together in one spot and it scares the hell out of liberals.

Let me ask you....why can’t real families create their own event?

I’m sick and tired of people complaining but not taking a stand!

“The “others” could stage there own event and let the Family Day alone, but that’s not good enough”

Exactly why real families should refuse to show and plan their own.

Not just that, family is, as my son well put to me, is the single greatest force for good, for freedom, and for faith, planned that way BY GOD,by design. All of those things the left hates.

It sure does panther! Which is exactly what we should do when they have their Perversion Pride days or parades. Close all businesses, hold a Conservative picnic or gathering as far from theirs as possible! It not only sends a strong message, but they have no audience, which as we all know, they crave.

Politically Incorrect Opinion: The less Breeders in NYC, the better. Maybe then I can enjoy going out to a restaurant without hearing screaming brats or ride the subway without dealing with the loud hooligans coming out of Norman Thomas High.
