Rushing to Reason?

Not that I'd ever take the word of someone who blogs for Reason magazine ("Free minds, free markets") over "Mancrush" Landauer, but David Weigel puts pencil to paper in analyzing the Clinton victory in Texas and determines that the Rush Limbaugh call to listeners to cross over may have swung the popular vote her way.

[snip]

It's a similar story in Texas, where Limbaugh has the most listeners of any of these states. Obama won the Republican vote 52-47, but conservatives (22 percent of all voters, up from 15 percent in the Kerry-Edwards primary) went against Obama. For the first time since Super Tuesday, they were Clinton's best ideological group: She won them 53-43. And Clinton won 13 percent of the people who said Obama was the most electable candidate.

Ohio didn't wind up being very close, but Clinton won the Texas primary by about 98,000 votes out of 2.8 million cast. If the exits are right, about 252,000 of those voters were Republicans, and about 618,000 were conservatives. Clinton truly might have won the Texas primary on the backs of Rush Limbaugh listeners.

CRY (If your Dem votes)
By Johnnie Ray-of-Sunshine
Tune: "Cry" (If your sweetheart)

If your Dem votes seem a little bit too high
It's just Limbaugh, you'll feel better if you cry
We're coming to your party
Don't you sometimes think it's real
But it's only your elections that we steal

If Rush Limbaugh seems to hang around and gloat
And your dim hopes keep getting dimmer with each vote
November storm clouds can be found
Behind the sunny skies
So get your hopes down and go on and cry

If Rush Limbaugh seems to hang around and gloat
And your dim hopes keep getting dimmer with each vote
Well now, November storm clouds can be found
Behind a sunny sky
So get your hopes down and go right on baby and cry!

What Rush did, keeping this witch alive, makes me so angry I don’t have the words right now.

If Hillary becomes President I’ll blame Rush.

I hate Hillary Clinton.

"If Hillary becomes President I’ll blame Rush."

Who do we blame for McCain getting the nomination?

I'm afraid Rush has more fight in him than 99% of the party baffoons who are running the RNC combined.

As usual, Rush is spot on!

I too consider the HildaBeeste to be a spawn of the Devil, BUT!

A contest between The RedDiaperBaby and McVain will be turned into an American Idol beauty contest by the MSM, and that's a contest that McCain cannot win. He's old, he's scarred, both physically and morally, and when his temper isn't flaring up, he looks and sounds like a zombie on TV, (or Bob Dole, which is close enough). A charismatic like The RDB will eat him alive. He has almost zero "negatives" in the popular mind, and any that do get dug up will be suppressed by the MSM.

No, better we have The Beast, whose negatives are seared into the American psyche, and who is anything but charismatic on TV.

Please also consider that Rush also may have killed two birds with one stone here.

We've now shown the Evil Party that we too can play the crossover game that they played against us to get McVain nominated. As a result, we might just get to drive a stake thru the heart of this business of Democrats voting in Republican primaries. This is mandatory if we are to preserve the two-party system in the US of A.
