McCain's money will start pouring in now that he's the GOP candidate.

Count on it.

Really? I don't think I know anybody planning to contribute to McCain. There are plenty of conservatives out there running for House, Senate, governor, etc. For most of February, McCain was the clear nominee, and he only raised $8 million. There's a reason for that.

Fact of the matter is, no one gives money because they hate the other candidate. McCain is simply not energetic enough to rouse conservative voters to support him where it counts most, with their wallets and possibly not even with their votes. In other words, weak sauce. Clinton herself managed to raise 35 Billion in the same month as Obama which by and of itself would be an amazing sum were it not for Obama stealing the wind from her sails.

No matter who the democratic nominee, the odds do not look good for the Republican party in november. It may sound defeatist, but the signs are pointing towards a 96’ Bob Dole redux writ large.
