IF AL GORE can pull himself away from saving the planet long enough, he might want to consider rescuing the Democratic Party from the clutches of utter self-destruction.

With an unpopular war in Iraq, a sputtering economy and a disappearing dollar, Democrats cannot lose in November.

In the back of my mind, such as that area is, I have always feared that the Democrats would come to their senses, put the Golden-Tongued Anointed One, Algonquin J. Obama in his place of highest and best use, i.e., as VP candidate ... where his empty-headed platitudinous nonsense might actually let the Democrats lock up their more foolish constituencies, while Big Al could appeal to the real people. After all, he did get 50% of the popular vote once, incredible as that may seem.

For as close to adult supervision as the Democrats are ever likely to come for Obama, I looked around and see, God help me, only Al Gore.

Before you ROTFLYAO, stop and think. This could be a ticket that knocks McCain into a cocked hat.
