Agreed.
I've known potters who fixated on a specific glaze/color and never (?) got it by experimentation.
To me, only way to do it (then) would be to watch the process & copy the steps.
Relative value of a plate, and the profit motive, makes me think that a .2% finding reflects someone's personal kit and not trade goods.

rather it seems that they were imported by commercial shipping companies for the long and medium term as secondary items as space fillers' for the more expensive items that were shipped, she concluded.Similar to all those Chinese statues shipped to Thailand as ship ballast.
