Patty Murray is going to be one pissed off senator. Too bad for her. Queen Christine ain’t going to be a happy camper either.

Good news for Mobile and Alabama. Now all they have to do is build a plant, hire and train people and so on. The KC 135s are old now and will be ancient when the first new tanker rolls out.
I do have mixed feelings over Airbus even with the partnering with Northrop Grumman.

Europe will make good profit from this deal too. Someday, America may have it’s very own defense industry.

This will be unbelievable for Mobile (my home)!
One of our commissioners said this afternoon: “The eyes of the nation will be on Mobile. They will see a team of Democrats/Republicans and whites and African Americans working together to bring this about. It’s a very proud day for our city”.
Well said.

Good for my retirement fund as well. I have ESOP stock left over from one of their acquisitions of Avondale Shipyards and it’s all in Northrup stock now.

Will they put that billboard up in Seattle again?
Would the last person to leave Seattle please turn out the lights?
Or will Bill Gates just change the name to 'Gatesville'?

Dumb all around...
Cancel the contract.
A Blended Wing Body with 3 of Pratt's new Geared-Turbofans.
We are Americans, let us push the cutting edge. Both of these technologies combined will have dramatically lower fuel consumption numbers.
Are we truly "The New Castrati" that Rush speaks of?
Something like this please....
And while you at it Boeing, add the "C-Wings" you have a patent on for even lower fuel consumption numbers...

The A330 is a bigger airplane and offers more in the combined cargo/tanker role than the 767. However, unlike the KC-135, the non-Boeing KC-45 will not last 50 years.
The 767 is as over engineered as every Boeing.
"I know every inch of the 707. Take the wings off this and you could use it as a tank!"
A line from a movie, sure, but it doesn't make it any less true.
And it is odd we will use the Airbus tanker, while Italy uses the KC-767.

I had a feeling this was coming. Been watching Boing stock drop all day. This decision really sucks. Local news was just showing protest outside the Everett Plant.
