Law enforcement and protection of the innocent, yes. Entertainment, no.
Entrapment?? They drive to meet the victim.
This guy was different but clearly he knew he was busted.
I hate the entrapment statutes. If it’s a crime then don’t do it!!!!! The intent of the perp was to do something vile. Now his loved ones want to complain that his shame in being caught and killing himself is NBC’s fault? This scumbag wanted to have sex with a minor.
I have no desire to watch this show, just want to know what the lure was. If the lure was "come to a party, young boys will be there" would be clear entrapment, since no mention of sex is present. The key is the lure.
“Law enforcement and protection of the innocent, yes. Entertainment, no.”
I am with you. The people that make this show and the people who watch this show think it’s entertaining? I bet they were the same ones who thought pulling the legs off of bugs and setting the cats tail on fire was entertaining as children.
I dunno. Watching the naked guy chase the cat around the house while carrying a tub of cool whip was pretty funny. And when the host implored him to cover himself with a towel so they could talk was just classic.
When entrapment becomes entertainment...something is wrong in society. I don’t have a problem in the media reporting arrests...but helping to create it....seems to go in a direction that wrecks society.
Uh...'close'? How much closer could it be?
I never saw the show. Why do you say it was entrapment?
How did NBC force or entice him to perform a criminal act that he would not have done without their actions?
Did they bribe him to do it, or did they blackmail him into it?
Setting someone up in itself isn't entrapment.
