5 EYEWITNESS NEWS has confirmed that Immigration and Customs Enforcement is conducing an operation in Worthington Wednesday.

Investigators told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that they never conduct random immigration sweeps and that they are targeting specific people.

"Because the operation has not concluded I cannot provide further details," said Gail Montenegro, of the Chicago ICE office.

"More information will be available after the operation concludes. I would add that ICE does not conduct random sweeps and emphasize that we are targeting specific individuals."

This raid’s timing coincides with high tensions in the southwest region of the state. The issue of illegal immigration is fresh on many Minnesotans’ minds after a traffic accident that killed four children and wounded several others.

The driver of the vehicle that caused the crash was found to be in the country illegally, according to ICE reports.

OK...I’m back.

I posted the thread and then looked at the clock and had to run and pick up Ma for church.

The Star and Sickle is refusing to cover this story, at present. They’re too busy celebrating our new tax hikes and gushing about the appointment of Minnesota’s first ever poet laureate........
