Oh, please, who goes out there, anyway? At least it will be non-polluting energy, and the greenies won't hold up approval as they would for a nuke plant.
I go out there.
It's this "flyover country" attitude that is going to allow massive degradation of our landscape in pursuit of boneheaded "alternative" energy schemes. Conventional energy production is much more compact, and ultimately, more environmentally benign than solar, wind and biomass that will require huge areas of land to meet our needs.
Environmentalists are in love with alternative energy only because they don't have the foresight to see what it will look like on a large scale. It will be very, very ugly.
Those of us who live here go out there. The desert is really interesting, a little hazardous, but fun.
