Last month was the globe's coldest in 14 years. While it's partly due to a La Nina event, it was cooler than 1999, when a similar La Nina made global headlines. In fact, the 21st century is starting off with a cooling trend that is large enough that there would be a negative trend for the decade as a whole even if a record-shattering El Nino (warm trend) develops.

If Global warming/cooling or Man-made climate change should become "inconvenient" issues for leftists, it presents no problem whatsover for them. Since its the agenda, not the science; since its the emotion and seriousness of the charge, not the facts, all that will happen is that leftists will find some other "cause" to rally around to furthur their goals. Its the Alinsky way!

Leftists will have NO REGRET whatsoever for bringing up the issue... in its wake are perhaps millions of converts that will covet the notions of climate change, while leftist leaders find other causes to hook other fish.

Are they degrees C or F? Are they temperatures or temperature changes? If they are changes, changes from what?

Too late, Global Warming^TM is already in the public psyche. Drowning polar bears, melting ice, hot summers, etc. The environazis tried to turn the ship, but there was too much momentum and "science" behind warming. Remember--the "debate is over". Sure, they're trying to spin the dropping temperatures into a byproduct of warming, but they're just going to contradict themselves in the end. This is the greatest 'boy that cried wolf' in the history of mankind.

The units are degrees Centigrade above the 1870-2007 global sea-surface-temperature average. (Land temperatures are actually below average now, in spite of the reference frame including decades previous to the 1908-1941 warming trend.)
