So if a vicus is a single vici then the phrase 'veni vidi vici' could be modified to 'venus vidus vicus' meaning something like I took a venus to go do whatever?

Thanks for an excellent — and well-written — article. I’d probably have missed it if you hadn’t posted. I’ve studied the Moche a bit, along with other Peruvian coastal cultures, and have suspected they were all part of a large loosely-related group with similar mystical beliefs. Too bad about the looting. Because of it we’ll never know many important details that might be significant in understanding the peopling of this hemisphere.
