"It takes the Navy to clean up after the Air Force."

It takes the Navy to clean up after the Air Force's low bidder contractor. Never made it orbit, never entered into operations, so, not accepted.

There, as they say, fixed....

Could be some cool video, and maybe I will be able to collect a souvenir if the Navy's shot "misses". Make no mistake, hitting a object traveling 17K mph is no simple task.

The Navy was doing it three years before the Air Force.

I believe that this is the first time the US government and military " IS " letting the general public and other countries know that we can and will shoot down a satellite.
Are we that naive to believe that the US military has not been able to shoot a satellite down before ? I believe the US military has had this kind of capability for decades.
We also have to hope and believe that they will be able to shoot this satellite down in a area were the pieces of the satellite will be contained so the US Navy ships can collect any pieces that survived.
