New York Anti-Gun Legislation Still Pending

Friday, February 15, 2008

A number of anti-gun bills are still awaiting action on the Assembly floor: A7331, expanding the ban on so-called “assault weapons”; A3451, expanding the ballistic imaging program; A2772, banning .50 caliber firearms; A829, requiring "childproof" firearms; A76, requiring mandatory storage; A6525, creating new requirements and liability for gun dealers; and A3447, banning frangible ammunition, may all see floor action soon. Additionally, the Assembly may soon consider A6052, which could put New York on the path to prohibiting lead ammunition.

Still pending in the Codes Committee is A9543, a measure that would require black powder guns to be licensed as firearms.

Please call your State Legislators today at 518-455-4100, and urge them to oppose the bills listed above.  If you need help identifying your State Legislator please click here.

Many of these bills have not shown any movement in several weeks, but please keep checking www.NRAILA.org and your email for any upcoming hearings or votes.

Only the states that already have the worst anti gun laws. Her in Tennessee and other free states, we are replacing our RKBA one step at a time.

For right now I doubt that this will make it out of the NYS Senate. If the d’RATS don’t control the Senate...yet. If and when they do, you can expect this to become law.

Eventually I expect that they will ban all privately held firearms of any sort. Even hunting will be banned. There is always some shooting deaths every year during deer hunting season. So the “if it saves just one life” card will be played at that time.

But on the bright side, most of the d’RATS I know have had enough of Eliot Spitzer after 12 months. Let him keep pulling the crap that he’s been doing and it may not take that long.

Section 2: Adds new subdivision 24 to Section 265.00 of the Penal Law to define "frangible ammunition" as any ammunition with a projectile or projectile core composed of hybrid materials, either pressed together at high pressure or glued together with adhesives, which is capable of being used in pistols and revolvers and is designed to fracture or disintegrate upon impact.

I don't understand the rationale behind this. One would think that in these urban areas frangible ammo would be preferable to that nasty hardball or that inhumane hollowpoint.

Think "A3451, expanding the ballistic imaging program." The NY Assembly is controlled by donkeys. They want to increase funding for a forensic program that hasn't solved a crime yet. They think deterence works with criminals, and with frangible ammo they'll have a hard time matching a slug to the piece that fired it. These idiots don't understand the real world.

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and goodwill shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."
Gospel of Jules 2:16
