UNITED NATIONS - A woman who worked for the United Nations died Sunday after falling from the 19th floor of the U.N.'s Secretariat Building, authorities said.

Police and U.N. security officers at the scene, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media, said the 45-year-old woman had jumped from a window after showing up to work early in the morning.
"A U.N. agency staff member died after falling from the 19th floor of the U.N. Secretariat Building," U.N. deputy spokeswoman Marie Okabe said. "At this time there is no suspicion of foul play."
Okabe said U.N. officials would not confirm her identity even after her next of kin were notified.
The official cause of death was to be determined by the medical examiner.
U.N. staff rushed to the scene and escorted investigators to the rear area of the building, where yellow tape was put up around the woman's body. Some U.N. staff were blocked from leaving the building just after the discovery.
In 1982, a 57-year-old senior U.N. official who had just resigned from the Office of Financial Services and was reported to have been upset about his failing health plunged to his death from the 18th floor of the Secretariat building.

Call me crazy, but the title of this article is wrong. Falling from a building is an accident but in the article, it states she jumped. That's suicide. Total 180 degree turn.

The obvious solution ... remove all the UN buildings in the US, they’re dangerous.

Perhaps she had evidence on the oil-for-food scandal.

She probably found out something she shouldn't have. The UN is a hotbed of crime and corruption.

Perhaps she had evidence on the oil-for-food scandal. Not necessarily. There are probably hundreds or thousands of deals at the UN that are in someone's interest to keep under wraps.

I always thought that windows above a certain floor had to be sealed so just this thing couldn’t happen. If so, then the person that “pushed” her had to break a window before the action occurred.

Didn’t they find someone dead in the UN building a couple of years ago?
Too much secrecy here with this death.

The official cause of death was to be determined by the medical examiner. BUTCH: "I can't swim"
SUNDANCE: "Hell, the fall'll probably kill ya..."

I do not know. I am just guessing.
Bottom line: If she could jump to her death..she could just as easily been pushed to her death.
She certainly did not slip on the ice up there...

The title is misleading.

The official cause of death was to be determined by the medical examiner. What would the medical examiner find that would would prove or disprove some nefarious died? A note that states: "I am being thrown out of a window." Granted maybe a clutched pen from a killer or maybe some fabric from the killers garment or maybe proof that the woman was dead before she ever hit the "airwaves". Or maybe a stab wound or gunshot wound. Guess I proved myself out of a theory of obviousness.

I had forgotten about that one. The security cameras conveniently didn’t see anything that time, did they?
