Pro-Abortion Magazine “The Nation” Paints Worldwide Pro-Life Group as Racist

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A leading magazine with a pro-abortion slant has painted an international pro-life group as racist because it is concerned about the severe underpopulation problems plaguing, Europe, Russia, Japan and other parts of the world. The magazine will release an article on the World Congress of Families in its March 3 issue.

The article, "Missing: The 'Right' Babies," written by reporter Kathryn Joyce, attempts to paint the pro-life group and others sounding the alarm about the coming demographic winter as concerned only with preserving the white majority of Europe and the United States.

The organization told LifeNews.com that characterization is ironic given that the population control movement, which The Nation supports, was started by Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger to limit the birth of ethnic populations.

The group said the article calls the World Congress of Families an organization made up mostly of “Mormon, Catholic and evangelicals” and “token links” to Jews, Muslins or others with a pro-life perspective who aren’t of European decent.

But Alan Carlson, the international secretary of the group, told LifeNews.com that the organization has worldwide support from nations and ethnic groups considered minorities in the United States and Europe.

"Speakers and delegates at our four Congresses to date have come from Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia and the Americas. They represent all of the world's races and religions. We are united not by doctrine or ancestry, but by our common concern for the fate of the natural family, the cornerstone of civilization,” he said.

Carlson pointed out that the 2004 international meeting of the group’s leaders and activists occurred in Mexico City and that a coalition of African pro-life groups have put in a bid to hold the next event in Nigeria.

While the magazine depicts the group as racist, Carlson says nothing in the article rebuts the organization’s facts showing that several parts of the world are experiencing severe underpopulation.

"Tellingly, there isn't a single statistic in Joyce's ad hominem attack – which leaves the impression that demographic winter is a manufactured crisis, used to play on fears of the Western world to build support for the natural family,” he told LifeNews.com.

In fact, worldwide, birthrates have declined by 50% in the last half-century.

With a birthrate of 1.3 -- a rate of 2.1 is necessary to replace a population and higher to grow it -- the groups says Europe is in serious trouble.

“But so are Africa, Asia and the Middle East – a phenomenon to which we regularly refer. While still at above replacement level, one of the greatest declines in fertility has been in Iran,”the group explained, showing that underpopulation doesn't just threaten majority Caucasion nations.

Carlson concluded: "The anti-family left, of which The Nation is an integral part, simply seems to be terrified of our success at building a multi-racial, multi-denominational pro-family alliance."

"The Nation" would be driven even more nuts if they realized that what the concern is truly about is not the color of the immigrants and new babies, but the rise of Islam in Europe and Russia, and the danger that foretells for Western Civilization. Heck, even black Africans are in danger from the Arab Muslims who have taken root in some of the nations of that continent. In Darfur, it wasn't only Christians who were being killed, it was Muslims, because they were black, not Arab.

Yep, Satan warped their minds, what’s right is wrong and what’s wrong is right.

Reading Liberal Fascism, it is amazing how the Holocaust drove the Eugenics crowd underground. The progressives - liberals were all about controlling the population of blacks back in the 30’s. They still have planned parenthood clinics predominantly in minority neighborhoods. Who are the racists?

The eugenicists dropped words like “eugenics,” “subhuman,” “worthless eater” and “imbecile” in the years after World War II, and in so doing they have accomplished wholesale slaughter on a level that Hitler never dreamed possible.

Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood:

On blacks, immigrants and indigents:
“...human weeds,’ ‘reckless breeders,’ ‘spawning... human beings who never should have been born.” Margaret Sanger, Pivot of Civilization, referring to immigrants and poor people

On sterilization & racial purification:
Sanger believed that, for the purpose of racial “purification,” couples should be rewarded who chose sterilization. Birth Control in America, The Career of Margaret Sanger, by David Kennedy, p. 117, quoting a 1923 Sanger speech.

On the purpose of birth control:
The purpose in promoting birth control was “to create a race of thoroughbreds,” she wrote in the Birth Control Review, Nov. 1921 (p. 2)

On the rights of the handicapped and mentally ill, and racial minorities:
“More children from the fit, less from the unfit — that is the chief aim of birth control.” Birth Control Review, May 1919, p. 12

On the extermination of blacks:
“We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population,” she said, “if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.” Woman’s Body, Woman’s Right: A Social History of Birth Control in America, by Linda Gordon

“Always to me any aroused group was a good group, and therefore I accepted an invitation to talk to the women’s branch of the Ku Klux Klan...In the end, through simple illustrations I believed I had accomplished my purpose. A dozen invitations to speak to similar groups were proffered.” (Margaret Sanger: An Autobiography, P.366)

“We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population. and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.” Margaret Sanger’s December 19, 1939 letter to Dr. Clarence Gamble, 255 Adams Street, Milton, Massachusetts. Original source: Sophia Smith Collection, Smith College, North Hampton, Massachusetts. Also described in Linda Gordon’s Woman’s Body, Woman’s Right: A Social History of Birth Control in America. New York: Grossman Publishers, 1976.

Who’s racist now?

The original intent of the birth control/eugenics movement was to marginalize, if not wipe out, so-called inferior races. Hitler was not nearly as systematic as the pro-abortion gang. Looking at the demographics from Unplanned Non-Parenthood, a la, the Guttmacher Institute, there does seem to be a disproportionate number of minorities funding the abortion industry--and it ain't about poverty.

Total projection.

Leftists, after all, are big on the “Freakonomics” theory that insists that the high abortion rates among the poor and black are good things because they would all have grown up to be criminals anyway.
