Why ? Conservatives have already lost the election with the nomination of Juan McCain. What good is a symbolic victory for a Republican label ?

I disagree. We may have lost a battle but we can not leave/run (what ever you want to call it, and expect to win the war.

What I am hearing is we're doomed! Let them go down alone.

He won’t lose if people vote for him. Obama is going to get the nod on the dem side. His voters are mostly groupies. More and more people are becoming very afraid of him. By November a lot even dems will vote for McCain. He can win if we don’t hand it to Obama in a fit of stubborness. For the life of me I don’t understand people who would let someone win who has an 8% rating in exchange for an 80% rating. That is a terrible trade off.

For a long time, conservatives have blindly believed that the GOP shares conservative values. The GOP does not. One only needs to look at what the GOP actually does to know that. Actions speak louder than words.

It doesn't make a dimes worth of difference which party occupies the White House.

In fact, it would be best for the country if the Rats and the Pubs took turns every four years. That way neither could do too much damage.
