The Wall Street Journal ^ | 2/11/2008

Now that John McCain is close to wrapping up the GOP Presidential nod, the same people who endorsed his opponents are saying he needs to become more restrictionist on immigration for the general election. We'd direct readers to last week's California primary exit poll, which offers better advice.

The Arizona Senator will never please the talk-radio and Internet voices who now refer to him as "Juan McCain." He shouldn't try. Most Americans agree with him.

Good grief, what a lie! Even the Wall Street Journal has succumbed to liberalism.

The American people had better speak up now, or they will lose their voice forever.

Time for another party to take the GOP’s place.

Tell you what I saw in the Journal one day last week:
side-by-side editorials, one talking about how dumb it was to expect a fence to discourage illegal immigration - right next to it was a story about how incredibly successful the Israeli fence around the Palestinian terrorists has been in reducing terrorist attacks in Israel.

The big panel uproar by the media talking heads in mid-November will revolve around how they missed the mark on lack of support for Juan by the general votership. Of course, Bill Kristol and Fred Barnes will be back pedaling at high speed.

As long as you win Texas and FLA, it's not that bad a strategy.

I am amazed at how many supposed American’s favor breaking the rule of law. Let me be perfectly clear on my position, I am pro LEGAL immigration. The key is LEGAL which easier to control. The stupidity of anyone who desires an open border to all is mind numbing Why anyone especially the WSJ would promote a position that would gratnt amnesty to law breakers is beyond my comprehension.

>> Time for another party to take the GOP’s place.

More and more, I’m beginning to agree with you. The GOP has turned into Big Government Liberalism. Mark my words — the NEXT plank to go out the window will be “we’re the party of low taxes”. Low taxes simply do NOT fit into the GOP’s “grow the government” plans.

I see this most clearly at the local level. School boards, county governments, municipal government, state government... all working hard to INCREASE the size and influence of government, and to gain and spend an ever larger share of the wealth generated by productive citizens — and around here, they all have an (R) by their name on the ballot.

Consider that the (R)oaches and (R)ats that crawl out into the Washington, DC spotlight breed behind the baseboards of municipal government and in the cupboards of state government.

Problem is, gaining critical mass for a new party is a daunting undertaking.

Just in case the rubes out in fly over country don't get it. Or as Bill Krstol said; "What are they going to do; vote for Hillary?"

Not only a lie, I daily listen to talk radio and there might be some who do refer John to as Juan (Savage? I don't listen) but more importantly the lie that "Most Americans agree with him (John)"

Across America, only in the liberal, urban rich cities (which probably have lots of illegals) might "agree with him" but no one else seems to.

This upcoming election seems to be getting down to one party, DemocRAT and a "fringe party RepublocRATS."
