HANOVER, Penn., Feb. 6 /Christian Newswire/ -- The V-Monologues play by feminist author Eve Ensler seems to be meeting more opposition on Catholic colleges and universities lately. The production, scheduled to perform on 20 Catholic college campuses in the next few weeks, is sparking renewed protest from groups upset over the play's vulgar content.
According to Tradition Family Property Student Action, a Catholic group with members on 719 college campuses nationwide, the play is objectionable because of its "lewd and graphic descriptions of sexual encounters, lust, and lesbian behavior."
"The play tramples purity, modesty and degrades women. It openly flaunts sins against nature, and thus subverts the order established by God," said TFP Student Action director John Ritchie. "This scandalous play offends every good Catholic and has absolutely no place on Catholic campuses. Students, alumni, and parents should call for the play's immediate cancellation."
The group is encouraging Catholics to sign an online petition featured on its web site at www.tfp.org/sa. When visitors sign the petition, simultaneous letters are instantly e-mailed to every Catholic university president where the play is planned.
Together with the Cardinal Newman Society, TFP Student Action has protested "The V-Monologues" in the past. As a result, several Catholic institutions have canceled showings of the play including the College of Saint Scholastica, Assumption College and Carlow University.
"I can't understand why any Catholic institution of higher learning would stoop so low as to allow this play on campus. It explicitly condones sin, promotes the abortion mentality and fuels sexual anarchy," continued Mr. Ritchie. "This immoral play is the antithesis of Catholic morality. What the world needs today is purity, modesty and respect. So we invite all concerned Catholics to protest, to call the universities and urge them to end the scandal."
And that's why the left loves it.

Catholic Ping
you got that right - they want a nation of Britanys
Walk around your local mall on a Saturday afternoon and it will become clear that they are getting their wish.
I’m not Catholic, but I absolutely do not understand why ANYONE in a religious college would allow this play to be performed *on any campus*—what were the higher ups thinking?!?
HELLOOOOOOOOOOOO!
They are "thinking" that if they make a fuss, they will be called intolerant. Assuming they even can fathom why this "play" is vulgar.
Finally we see how the “Catholic” colleges that have gone off the deep end the past few decades may be brought back on a moral course: the university presidents won’t do it, the teachers won’t do it, the theologians definitely won’t do it....but the kids themselves!
How refreshing to hear a young man describe values of modesty and an understanding of the natural law. Probably he’s smuggled in a copy of the Catechism and disguised it in a Teilhard de Chardin book jacket.
That looks like the blood sucking plant from “Little Shop of Horrors”
Feeeed me Seymour...
Supposedly it empowers women to talk publicly and loudly about private areas. How special. We’re supposed to be liberal and open about all of this. I wonder if Hillary has seen the Vagina Monologues and what she thinks of it.
Aaaah, you know Valentine’s Day is near when the V-monologues rears it’s ugliness... I’m so pleased that this student group with membership on 719 campuses nationwide has emerged to say ‘no thanks’ to this ‘play’.
“Probably hes smuggled in a copy of the Catechism and disguised it in a Teilhard de Chardin book jacket.”
lol
**Students Reject ‘V-Monologues’ on Catholic Campuses**
Good for them!
Apparently St. Louis University has booted the performance off campus..Hat tip to Fr. Biondi...now, about your theology department’s compliance (or rather, lack of)with JP II’s Mandatum. With two daughters as recent grads, it would have been nice to have received a Catholic education for $35+K per year + the bar tab at Humphrey’s....
I signed the petition. Everyone else should too.
Hillary IS the Vagina Monologue.
I think it is horrible that any college that defines itself as Catholic would allow a play which is the exact opposite of everything the Catholic Church stands for to perform on its campus. Of course, many Catholic colleges have become infused with liberal values and are merely Catholic in name only.

The kids themselves!
You are **completely** correct. This is the ONLY way we can beat back the Marxists who have thoroughly infiltrated our entire education system, the media, the arts, and all aspects of the the culture.
This is why I spend so much time on school issue threads.
The Marxists have it figured out. One of the major goals of the Marxists was to infiltrate the schools!
Well...If Marxists can take control of K-12 education in the U.S. then Conservatives ( Christian and non-Christian) should do that too!
How? How can conservatives take control?
1) Remove your own child from government schools.
2) Urge friends and family to do the same.
3) Organize private scholarship foundations that would provide private vouchers to private schools that upheld conservative values. If Harvard and many other universities in the U.S. can have multi-BILLION dollar endowments, surely conservatives could do this for K-12 education.
4) Organize a Massive school tax revolt, and completely shut down all government school Marxist maddrasses.
5) Send armies of righteous youth to colleges and universities, and the workforce, who are fully and completely trained to defend their faith, the Constitution, and free market principles!
What? Catholics don’t like stories about homosexual rape?
