What the Democrats have in store for Flip Romney [Vanity]
RomneyFacts.com ^ | 2-5-08 | Antoninus

Posted on 02/04/2008 10:55:18 AM PST by Antoninus

All of you who think that Mitt Romney can win in November, need to have a hard look at this website:

RomneyFacts.com

It's run by Democrats.

I'm not sending you to this site to be convinced of anything. This site is instructive as a precursor to how the Dems will frame Romney should he become the nominee--as a two-faced, finger-in-the-wind, complete phony. Here's the blurb from the site:

The truth about Massachusetts Mitt and Red State Romney

Having endured four years of Governor Romney's failed leadership, the Massachusetts Democratic Party is uniquely aware of the real Mitt Romney. Time and time again, Romney has demonstrated a willingness to say anything and everything to get elected, and this site seeks to highlight and expose each and every one of those instances, as well as provide other useful tools and resources about our former governor.

This is the campaign the Democrats would run against Romney in the general election--and with a lot more fire-power than the few Cassandras here on FR are able to muster. And it would be successful.

Therefore, I urge you. Don't allow yourselves stampeded toward Romney by short-sighted folks in talk-radio, who, in my opinion, are not seeing the bigger picture. As bad as the other guys are, Romney is a sure loser.

John McCain as the GOP nominee will cost Republicans 70 seats in the House, and 12 in the Senate.

McCain only appeals to people who hate Republicans.
That is who he will bring out, while many conservatives stay home.
Liberals will be out in record numbers to vote.

Liberals will vote for Democrats.
Moderates will vote for John McCain and... Democrats.
Conservatives will stay home.

Liberals + anti-GOP moderates - conservatives = MASSIVE GOP LOSSES IN CONGRESS

McCain is going to turn the Democrat Wave into the Democrat Tsunami in November.

For your consideration.

I wonder if there’s a similar site for McCain and Huckabee? Even if there isn’t, stuff like this is known as “opposition research.” You can count on the Republicans having lots of similar info on the 2 leading Dems.

FYI, here’s an article comparing McCain and Hillary. It is quite eye-opening: http://astuteblogger.blogspot.com/2008/02/patterico-endorses-mitt.html

That's an exaggeration but I believe that McCain would lose us seats. Romney, in my opinion, would lose us even more. Why? Because the Democrats would basically sweep the South.

This is why it's so incredibly unfortunate that we've allowed the media and RNC to pick our candidates for us.

Antoninus, with all due respect this is how I see it:

McCain is for conferring Constitutional rights on terrorists.

McCain is for stifling free speech.

McCain is for circumventing the Constitution in the appointment of judges.

McCain will get no support from the conservative GOP base.

McCain guarantees a DIM in the White House in '09.

Romney's problem is that this stuff sticks to him like tar--because they're his own words in most cases.

No need to do this for McCain.

They already know which buttons to push to make him self-destruct.

The Democrats can’t attack Romney on flip-flops, because his “flips” would actually be closer to the Democratic position. What are they going to say...”Romney used to be pro-choice”, blah, blah, blah. Seems that would attract more independents more than anything else.

OH, and McCain saying , "I hate Gooks" is going to go over well?

McCain has been loose lipped and hot headed for 30 years, the amount of trash they have on him is considerable.

I would think these idiots would hold their powder until the general election if they were smart.

They're gearing up for Flip.

If you're a Romney-bot and your guy wins the nomination, the three months from the convention to the election are going to have you playing defense all day, every day.

That's no way to win a national election.

HAHAHAH I love the RomneyFacts "arrest" sheet. Headline "Romney has been arrested TWICE"

Open it to read on why....

once for not having proper registration on his boat (case dismissed and sealed)

The second one is the best. Apparently he and his friends were arrested for riding blocks of ice down a hill at a golf course back in 1965.

Yea those are high criminal charges.

Oh yea and apparently he swore because of traffic once in SLC. oooooooh oh noes.

You can do the same for Romney:

Appointed homosexual activists as judges.

Set up pro-homosexual education for grade school kids in Massachusetts.

Raised Taxes.

Put a universal health care system in place that is already 400 million dollars over estimated costs.

Is for the Brady bill.

. . . You know the guy that you can’t do that for? Huckabee. The only rap against him is that he raised taxes in his later terms in office.

Romney is guaranteed to suffer the greatest electoral defeat for any Republican since 1964.

And, sadly, unlike Goldwater, Romney is sitting the stage for the destruction of conservative movement. When a movement is forced to defend a liar and flip-flopper just to win, what credibility will remain?
