LITTLE ROCK — An ethics complaint was filed Monday against Mike Huckabee accusing the former Arkansas governor of violating state law by not revealing donors to a private fund used to raise money for his official portrait. Jim Parsons if Bella Vista, a self-described gadfly, said he filed the complaint accusing the Republican presidential hopeful of violating a 2001 law requiring the governor to report donors of gifts he receives on behalf of the state.

Parsons has filed numerous ethics complaints against politicians over the years and the Ethics Commission last year dismissed two complaints he filed against Huckabee over the destruction of hard drives from the former governor’s office.

Parsons has since filed a lawsuit against Huckabee over the hard drives in Pulaski County Court, and a judge last year denied Parsons’ Freedom of Information Act claim against Huckabee. The judge did not rule on the rest of Parsons’ lawsuit that also alleged Huckabee illegally used government funds to crush the hard drives and to help the Mexican government locate a consulate in Little Rock.

Bold is mine.

Reminds me of the guy who just happened to remember George W. Bush's DUI, in time for the 2004 election.

Jim Parsons of Bella Vista, a self-described “gadfly,” tried to file a criminal complaint Tuesday accusing Mike Huckabee of illegally destroying computer hard drives as he left the governor’s office. The complaint went nowhere fast. Parsons staged a news conference outside the Pulaski County prosecuting attorney’s office.
