He was such a sweet man. I’ll miss his kindness and humor.

God be with you President Hinkley.

My deepest sympathies to our LDS Freepers. I was living in Utah during the time Pope John Paul II passed away, and I remember the LDS church authorities expressing their sorrow over his passing. Let us remember that President Bush awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Gordon Hinckley for his humanitarian efforts to the world. President Hinckley showed the goodness of America to the needy people of this planet.

Passing away at 97 years old says a lot for that clean high mountain Mormon living. Rest in peace and best regards to his family.

I agree 100 percent. Having had many opportunities to meet and interview him in my profession, he will always hold a special place in my heart. His compassion and humility and genuine selfless treatment of others was truly typifying of an ambassador of the Savior.

I pray we can all put aside politics for a little while here.

He was very gracious when Pope John Paul II passed away saying that he had been a great force for decency and good in the world.

I feel the same about Jerry Falwell and, now, Gordon B. Hinckley. And I say this sincerely being no fan of organized religion, but am also big enough to acknowledge many of them do a great deal of good in this world.

Can you enlighten us on how a successor is chosen?

I’m always sorry to hear of someone passing. May God rest his soul.

Sorrowful in some way, but at the same time, joyful.

He is with Him, now.

You got to interview resident Hinckley? LUCKY!

Was he as humorous as he always seems to be when I’ve seen him interacting with reporters?

I hope he attends, and puts politics aside. Frankly, I don’t care what consequences arise politically. It’s the right thing to do. Mitt is the kind of person that would do the right thing, I believe he will attend the funeral.

It’s always a sad day when a gentleman passes away. Gordon B. Hinckley was a gentleman.
