Motorist wants to thank passerby who saved her
Star-Telegram ^ | PAUL BOURGEOIS

ARLINGTON -- Niki Jackson might be dead if an unknown passerby had not yelled a warning at her about 7 p.m. Wednesday at Green Oaks Boulevard and Collins Street.

The 1996 Toyota Camry she had bought just six days earlier had died.

It stopped running. The lights didn't work.

Nothing.

She used her cellphone to call for help and was waiting patiently in the car "when a man pulls along side of me and screamed, 'Miss, get out of your car! Your car is on fire!' I jumped out moments before it exploded," said Jackson, 24.

It all happened so quickly.

During the excitement her rescuer jumped into his pickup and drove away before she could properly thank him.

Jackson said Friday that she'd like another chance to thank her rescuer, who she described only as a thin, middle-aged white man.

"I don't know who this man is, but my family and I would like help finding him. We'd like to thank him as he did save my life," Jackson said Friday.

If her rescuer will call the Arlington Star-Telegram, we will put you two together.

Jackson, meanwhile, has contacted the Arlington car dealer who sold her the car on Jan. 10. She said she paid $3,000 and believes it should have lasted more than six days.

She only had liability insurance.

LOL Speed IV No Speed: This time we mean it!

For 3 grand you'd think the car wouldn't explode for a good 6 months.

She should document everything and I mean everything down to the last detail and talk to the car dealer about refund.

Don’t do it unless you have everything including the silliest little detail. Car dealers are unbelievable about how they trick you.

The Hero probably does not want to be ID’d. Most likely has outstanding parking tickets
