Group Blames Staph Infection in Homosexuals on 'Unnatural Behaviors'

(CNSNews.com) - A drug-resistant strain of a deadly staph infection found in some U.S. hospitals is now spreading among homosexual men, researchers said. A conservative group has characterized the problem as the result of "unnatural behaviors."

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA, killed about 19,000 Americans in 2005 -- most of them in hospitals, according a report published in October in the Journal of the American Medical Association. But now the infection is popping up outside hospitals in San Francisco, Boston, New York and Los Angeles, according to Reuters.

"The medical community has known for years that homosexual conduct, especially among males, creates a breeding ground for often deadly disease. In recent years we have seen a profound resurgence in cases of HIV/AIDS, syphilis, rectal gonorrhea and many other STDs among those who call themselves 'gay,' said Matt Barber, policy director for cultural issues with Concerned Women for America (CWA).

Active homosexual men in San Francisco are considered 13 times more likely to be infected with MRSA than heterosexuals, researchers reported in the Annals of Internal Medicine.

"Once this reaches the general population, it will be truly unstoppable," Reuters quoted Binh Diep, a researcher at the University of California, San Francisco who led the study, as saying. "That's why we're trying to spread the message of prevention," he added.

"The human body is quite callous in how it handles mistreatment and the perversion of its natural functions," said Barber. "When two men mimic the act of heterosexual intercourse with one another, they create an environment, a biological counterfeit, wherein disease can thrive. Unnatural behaviors beget natural consequences."

He blamed television shows like "Will and Grace," which "glorify the homosexual lifestyle," and homosexual indoctrination in schools for the "laissez-faire attitude toward sexual deviancy."

"'Stay out of our bedrooms!' we're often commanded by militant 'gay' activists," Barber said. "Well, now the dangerous and possibly deadly consequence of what occurs in those bedrooms is spilling over into the general population. It's not only frightening, it's infuriating."

Barber called for parents to speak out against "politically correct cultural elites" who "endanger our children and larger communities through propagandist promotion of this demonstrably deadly lifestyle."

"Why does it take a potentially deadly staph epidemic for people to acknowledge reality? Will that even do it? Enough is enough!" Barber added.

The rhetoric in this sounds a lot like the panic when AIDS was first discovered. I remember “Once AIDS reaches the heterosexual community, it will spread like wildfire.” I don’t recall that actually coming to fruition. The same scaremongers are peddling the same dope about “Once MRSA reaches the heterosexual community, it will spread like wildfire” nonsense.

We don’t have anonymous sex in bathrooms, etc. We’re not going to spread this they way homosexuals do.

In the short run, maybe. In the long run the taxpayers will be sodomized by this and every other epidemic the gays can manage to create.

25 years of AIDS and someone finally comes up with an elegant, essential distillation of the events. Bravo.

What conservative group?

This was in the news yesterday...that Drs. (not a conservative group) were reporting this disease be spread by homosexual sex...

Once again...the press agendizing the news...conservatives are always, always, evil...

The MRSA infections certainly are not caused by the nature of their perversions....but their chances of contracting it, and our chances of their developing something that will kill us all (or many) are.

...and the Anals of Medicine reports that the first symptom of AIDS and MRSA is a pounding sensation in the rear.

You would think it would become clear that using body parts in ways they were not designed to be used sometimes is unhealthy. But no in modern America it is a political issue.

It’s not the same, not even close. MRSA can be transmitted through casual contact, and passed through touching an object that has been touched by someone who has it. HIV can only be passed through bodily fluid. Therefore, this MRSA threat endangers the general public without any regard for age, environment, or anything else.

The homosexual lifestyle has always affected the population. In other words, Yes, I am my brother's keeper but also Your morality has a direct affect on my well being. Gee, where have I heard that before?

The rhetoric in this sounds a lot like the panic when AIDS was first discovered. I remember “Once AIDS reaches the heterosexual community, it will spread like wildfire.”

This is fundementally different: HIV is A) genuinely difficult to spread without participating in certain behaviors, and B) closely linked to those behaviors both in method and in time. MRSA is able to be spread in many ways. Though homosexual innoculation is rather more efficient, the infection rate of MRSA through casual contact is sufficient to be of substantial concern.

HIV (and homosexual/anal sex as well)is a danger to the heterosexual population, but primarily through it greatly enlarging the breeding ground for a wide variety of pathogens, and enhancing the medicine-resistance cycle.

Just consider: the American Red Cross collects blood donations. Blood is sorely needed and always in short supply. But if you are a man who has ever had sex with another man, EVEN ONCE, since 1977 (to paraphrase their rules) they will not consider using your blood, no matter how clean and virus-free it appears to be.

And as far as I know this has not been successfully challenged in any court.

(Yes, there are other restrictions but how many of them are non-medical in nature, and span back to 1977?)

If that isn’t clear and convincing evidence of acceptable or unacceptable risk, I don’t know what is.

Gay activists best hope of getting AIDS into the general population was when they lobbied to get AIDS testing for the Blood Supply delayed.

It’s always confused me that the left, with their passion for all things natural, thinks gay is ok. Just doesn’t fit.
