A former congressman and delegate to the United Nations was indicted Wednesday as part of a terrorist fundraising ring that allegedly sent more than $130,000 to an al-Qaida and Taliban supporter who has threatened U.S. and international troops in Afghanistan.

Great, now we have jihadists being elected into government.
Has to be a RINO.
It appears the the Republican Party was infiltrated by a "Towelie":

But when you think about it, the Democrat Party is not only infested with a full collection of such creeps, they let them run the whole show.
Siljander; the name looks Albanian, though IFRC, this fellow is, or claims to be Christian.
The progressive liberals in this country will eventually make CAIR it’s political party.
This could get big, they probably started with the R so it wouldn’t look like administratino is trumping it up.
Hang him for treason.
Took over for Stockman when he was appointed Reagan's budget director.
MSNBC is reporting that he is Reagan Appointee.
That should be punished by immediate death.
Whats the difference isnt that what Barrack Obama is? Aren’t these two guys from the same neighborhood in Chicago... Is America that stupid to vote for a potential Muslim junior Senator from IL that has not been vetted by the media or any investigator?
Actually he was very conservative. He won a special election to replace David Stockman when Stockman became President Reagan's budget director. He faced a tough primary challenge a few years later from Fred Upton. Just before the primary, Siljander released an audio tape asking people to "break the back of Satan" by defeating Upton. That backfired bigtime and he lost the primary.
Keep a sharp eye on that dude from the midwest somewhere who insisted upon being sworn in on a Koran instead of a Bible!
Are you surprised??? We have a congressman from IL who refused to takes his alegience to America on the bible, but insisted on the quoran. Of course we won’t hear of him doing any wrong....he’s a democrat.
It’s simple. He gets his day in court and, if found guilty, needs to be hanged immediately.
Hanged? Don’t you mean “beheaded”? I hear they’re really into that sort of thing.
They are but we are civilized.
Hussein Obama keeps coming to mind.
Hang him.
Why the hell isn’t treason listed as one of the charges?
Is anyone surprised? We're supposed to be at war, yet we have a conga-line of millions entering illegally, from where we haven't a clue.
It's really beyond belief. Like a bad dream.
My parents were good friends with him when he was a congressman in Michigan (still get Christmas cards). I would be shocked if this were accurate as he really was one of the good guys.
I read the indictment and it really comes down to the question of whether he knew the money was illegal or not.
Otherwise he may have been misled as well. Well see.
Koran? Oh you mean the “Terrorists Operating Manual and Field Guide”
Interestingly, when Mark Siljander was being challenged in the GOP Primary years ago, and ultimately defeated by, Congressman Fred Upton, Siljander was recorded saying that Upton was being used as a tool of the devil, or some such nonsense.
I knew a guy who worked for Siljander in in the 1980’s. My friend was an evangelical Christian who said Siljander opened his DC Congressional Office every morning with prayer.
Though I personally always thought Siljander was a bit of a nutcase for saying that Fred Upton was a tool of Satan, this latest move shows he has cracked beyond repair. Treason, anyone?
He lists George H.W. Bush and Duncan Hunter as references #1 and #2 on his corporate website.
Hope he hangs.
Sadly, my hopes always are dashed.
Why doesn’t this surprise me??? And they even made sure the blowback would hurt Republicans in the event he was caught. When are the American people going to wake up to the fact that we are deeply penetrated by the enemy???
What a moron. I’m embarrassed for Republicans.

The government accuses IARA of sending approximately $130,000 to help Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, whom the United States has designated a global terrorist. The money, sent to bank accounts in Peshawar, Pakistan, in 2003 and 2004, was masked as donations to an orphanage located in buildings that Hekmatyar owned.
Vandelay Industries?
I have met Mark personally and eaten in the Congressional
Dining Room with him and talked about his personal life
as well as issues that brought me there.
I find it very difficult to believe this is true.

“It’s not clear whether Siljander ever engaged in the lobbying push, said John Wood, U.S. attorney in Kansas City. Nevertheless, IARA paid Siljander with money that was part of U.S. government funding awarded to the charity years earlier for relief work it promised to perform in Africa, the indictment says.
In interviews with the FBI in December 2005 and April 2007, Siljander denied doing any lobbying for IARA. The money, he told investigators, was merely a donation from IARA to help him write a book about Islam and Christianity, the indictment says.”
The knee jerks are in full force on this thread as usual. I’ll hold my fire awaiting more facts and a trial.
Good thing CNN is pointing this out...(sigh)
Does it have to be immediate?
We should make him watch re-runs of Rosie on the view for a few years to get even before we waterboard him in acid...
Several of the responses on this thread from people who know Siljander better than I do have cast doubt on this accusation. So maybe we should hold our fire until we learn more.
Possibly he was a useful idiot, who helped a terrorist organization without knowing it. Possibly he was not involved at all.
The MSM naturally jumps on any Republican who is suspected of anything.
And it has been an increasingly obvious pattern that the FBI loves to go after Republicans, while letting Democrats get away with treason and corruption of all kinds, and dragging their feet or ignoring it. The administration has zero control over the FBI, which still appears to be working for the left, as it did under the clintons.
So, maybe he’s guilty. But let’s wait and see some more evidence, first, before jumping on him.
that looks ... like .. a ... latex saleman
I’ll bet he wants to bite into a block of cheese!
Personally, I'd drag it out for awhile.
Let’s see, it was exporting potato chips, and importing matches. Or was it diapers?
Try him and fry him.
