He’s doing exactly what he should do. He’s campaiging to his base. How can anyone fault him for that?

Everyone knows the Clintons have considerable influence with the MSM. And the MSM is pushing Huck; the other man from Hope.

Gee. I wonder why.

“Sadly, I am losing respect for Christians who support Huckabee just because he is a “Christian”. They don’t even look at his record. :(”

I understand exactly how you feel. I just have this hope that the good folks caught up with Huckabee’s smooth talking will take the time to research and find out for themselves that Mike Huckabee is not a real conservative. I also feel that his statements mentioned above in the article sound like the liberal “rich vs poor” and “black vs white” type talk. But Huckabee makes it Evangelicals vs other Christians. Sad that he has resorted to that, but sure says a lot about him!

Evangelical Christians Now Have a Chance to Lead GOP

As an evangelical Christian I would rather have a bona fide conservative lead the GOP.

Huckabee is a hypocrite... and so are the evangelicals who support him. They sure would not cut that length of slack if a Catholic were running for political office.

Imagine the response if a Catholic candidate made those same remarks. The “Christians” would be screaming “Papist!” “No popery,” “Vatican conspiracy,” etc.

This guy is really beginning to give me the creeps... I am reminded of the “anti-Christ,” and prophecy.

Just for sarcasm:

666 is the number of the beast, who is a man, the son of perdition. Using the law of 9’s Mike’s name is 12 characters long, which reduces to the integer 3; Using the same method the date of the election — November 4, 2008 — adds up to the integer 4; ‘United States of America’ has 21 characters, which likewise reduces to the integer 3... 3x4x3=36 ... “three-six” Get it?

Think about this: A “Christian” megalomaniac having the track record of Mike Huckabee, obtaining the reins of the most powerful country on Earth, and claiming to be the Christian world’s political messiah. “Vote for me — because I am one of you, and I will do your bidding (just ignore my horns and hoofs) I’m a nice guy... Trust me” Remember that the Anti-Christ will pull many believers into his web of deceit. How do you suppose that must happen, unless there is a natural attraction based upon some major common ground? That is the essence of “deception” — the victim does not realize he is being deceived.

The GOP is really slipping away from the Reagan Revolution. I had the pleasure of visiting the Reagan Library in California last summer. A must-see for all conservatives.

That’s fine. I do appreciate his willingness and ability to articulate and defend his faith. Some of my Christian friends like him too. But in their case (not necessarily yours) I find alot of hidden bigotry and unwarranted fear against Romney simply because he is Mormon.

That bothers me alot.

No. Someone will win but we don’t need to be a court jester like Ron Paul pretending to be a Presidential material.

Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee touted his candidacy Saturday as a chance for evangelical Christians to lead the Republican Party rather than just support its candidates.

Yeah, that's the way to encourage lots of other, non Evangelical folks to support you.

“Incredible! I knew some of this story but I didn’t know it was this outrageous. This is one of the bombs the news media is sitting on until Huckabee is nominated. Then they will destroy him with this and other issues.”

You’re absolutely right...and we are doing the talk and the research and the fact digging to keep this Huckster in Ark. that the media will use against him...I doubt if he will even make on the ticket as P or VP...no way...

Just think of the possibilities if the Internet and FR had been around when Jimmah Cahrter had been running for office?..He and his pea-nuts would never have made it out of Plains,Ga...

I wish the social conservatives a lot of luck storming the castle of liberalism....BY THEMSELVES.

Do ya think it'll work?

It would take a miracle...

I am from the Christian wing of the movement; but I KNOW that we only represent a third of it. The libertarians and the fiscal folks make up the rest. I hate that we are at each other's throats; and I am smart enough to know that any preacher worthy of the name has plenty of recorded sermons to be taken by the MSM, out of context (of course), in order to make a shambles of the general election. That is why I cannot support Huckabee, first and foremost. I don't want something that is precious to me dragged through the mud. Mormons should feel the same way about Romney. If you think Huck and Mitt's religion are an issue now, you have not seen anything compared to what would happen to them in the general. There are bound to be recorded and written materials that would make either of them squirm outside the church context. And they would be used.

I know that, in the context of a general election, a candidate whose main persona can be painted in terms of a particular religion could never garner more than 30-40% of the national vote. That means that conservatism would lose.

So -- a guy who is a Christian can win; but not one who is assiduously evangelical. A mormon can never win the presidency in this country -- not if he's ever reached very far up into the hierarchy. Neither one could ever escape their religious opinions becoming THE issue. Unfair? Yes. But it's reality.

For my part, I find Fred Thompson the guy most likely to have the most positive baggage and the least negative baggage in the general. In this general, ALL NEGATIVE BAGGAGE, as defined by the dem candidate and the MSM, will be exploited in nuclear fashion. I am so determined that the conservative movement repair itself and stay together, though, that I will support to the hilt whoever runs against the NOMINATRIX or Hussein.

My biggest phobia is a replay of RP '92 and RP '96 with another RP '08. I know that the NOMINATRIX has spent, is spending and will spend tens of millions to make sure that RP goes through with it -- as the dems have some unelectability problems of their own; and RP '08 is their only hope. A 3rd-party on the right is their win (*again*) and our demise.

Most, if not all Christians I have talked to said they would vote for him if he hadn't flipped so many times on such important issues. Not so much his Mormon religion (which is similar to a cult). But like they say, we are voting for a President, not a sunday school teacher.

That post is brilliant. You should be getting paid the salary of a journalist.

Something tells me you wouldn’t trade your salary for theirs. If you would, then you are in the wrong line of work.

You’ve done their job a lot better than they did.

I’ll vote for Obama before Chucklebee. If Chucklbee is the GOP nominee, count me out.

I was kidding about voting for Obama, I’ll refrain from exercising my Constituional duty, casting my vote.

I’ve never done that, never.

LOL Thanks for the subliminal shot there. Maybe you could also throw in the little hint about Jesus and Satan being brothers.

What good will it do if the Evangelical Christians, as HE identifies them, lead a party that can’t win an election.
