The boy scouts do not ‘screen’ for gays. They have a program similar to the military, don’t ask don’t tell. Romney didn’t say anything different.

Every time Multiple Mitt is accused of flip-flopping, he points to something specific to change his mind on abortion. Fine. But what about on gays? Affirmative action? Guns? Everything else? Luckily the voters of Iowa and New Hampshire saw through it.

“The boy scouts do not ‘screen’ for gays. They have a program similar to the military, don’t ask don’t tell. Romney didn’t say anything different.”

But what if people choose to tell? Then what? Romney said everyone should be let in without regard to sexual orientation; that includes people who tell.

Luckily the voters of Iowa and New Hampshire saw through it.

Yea, they saw all the way through Romney's flip-flopping conservatism and decided on Huckabee's flip-flopping socialism. That's progress?

He did NOT say ‘that includes people who tell’. There was no discussion of the ‘don’t ask don’t tell’ program of the scouts. He just acknowledged that everyone should have a chance at being a scout. And if we don’t ask, and they don’t advertise it, that includes so called gays (being in scouts may be a way of saving a boy from becoming gay actually).

He is this year’s John Connolly, and doing about as well. If only he had been really a conservative, he could have been good. He’s a talented man.

That was then and this is now, and one of the candidates is going to be a nominee regardless of the old history or the negative news heaped thereon. Lets hope it is someone that can beat the dems.

Romney is dead in the water. He has the money to keep afloat but float is all he can do now. What is becoming apparent is that no amount of money will buy him the nomination. His silly change mantra and Huckabee’s vertical conservative just leaves one wondering who is running their campaigns. Romney became front runner by spending lots of money running against no one.
It is like testing your new ultimate body armor by shooting it with marshmallows or as Zell Miller enjoyed so much “spit balls”.

Any freeper who doesn’t know that Romney supported a woman’s right to abortion in 1994 isn’t really paying attention.

I appreciate that your headline was more accurate than usual. Most people claim Romney wanted gay scoutmasters, when in fact Romney said he supported the right of the Boy Scouts to make up their own rules.

I was surprised to learn that. We had a local political race, they democrat was openly gay, and on his web site he listed many of his local “honors”. He left one out. We found a cub scout pack web site that indicated he was their cubmaster.

So I went and found the official forms he would have had to fill out to apply for that position, and was surprised to find there was no explicit question about being gay.

But it DID say you met the criteria, and some other things that made me conclude that he broke the scout oath in filling out the form knowing the ban on gays in leadership.

I think most of the kids in the boy scouts are too young to have a defined sexual orientation, and shouldn’t be sexually active in either case. And I don’t mind gay parents being involved, so long as they are not put in positions of authority. The boy scouts have good rules to prevent any impropriety.

Positions of authority should be filled by men of high character, which would preclude practicing homosexuals and guys having sex outside of marriage. Yes, I would object to a scoutmaster who was living with a woman.

But McCain waved a “Stop Global Warming, save our seasons. carboncoalitons.org” sign in New Hampshire. Theat image ran on Drudge for all of the weekend prior to that Primary.

Do we want a Gore-Republican?
