If anyone cares, I have been having a discussion on another thread about what this means tactically.

If Obama is the nominee, he faces a desperate problem. His convention is first. He has to pick a VP first. If he and Hillary hate each other, he will have enormous difficulty getting her to be VP.

But if he does not, the GOP has Guilliani as either nominee or VP nominee to grab NY’s EVs.

This puts Obama in a position of not being able to play offense for Indiana’s EVs with Evan Bayh. He has to play defense against Guilliani’s potential for grabbing NY’s EVs from him. So it’s Hillary or Schumer or Spitzer, just to prevent Guilliani as GOP VP from taking EVs he can’t lose.
