I always wondered if sizes 6 and 8 were out of luck at the 5 7 9 shop.
There was actually an hypothesis about size zero being the ideal because you cease to exist.
IOW, in so many things, the higher the number, the better you are....but in sizes, you want to vanish.
The NutriSystem commercials are the worst offenders...the 10s and 12s going done to a 2 or 0...I personally cannot fathom paying $400 for a month of what amounts to supermarket Lean Cuisine.
Perhaps a more formal written survey would be in order
Most of the obese ‘second class’ working folks I know work 2 jobs and eat what they can when they can. Losing weight is far down on their priority list. They also eat what will stay with them and yes, often food is the only fun thing or luxury in their lives.
Honestly, some of the hardest working, never off their feet folks I know are those who also obese.
I would hazard to guess that he is hypertensive and probably diabetic, but has a great sense of humor :)
Even worse, he's a Notre Dame fan. ;)
That’s the one I’m talking about! The before pictures are of normal, healthy looking women and they’re all bragging about ‘how good they look and how hot they are etc.”
And they look like skeletons!!
LOL!
I don’t remember... I used to shop there in my 20’s. I was SO excited when I got down to a size 4 (how I got there was simply starving).
That’s the point. It isn’t a moral issue — but a class issue. Thin = money for gym membership, free time, etc. etc.
What is sad is that employers are now choosing thin over heavy. Head hunters and employment agencies are told (off the record) not to send overweight people for interviews, even though they may be qualified.
Amen...its the great leisure class that can obsess (for $400 per month ala a NutriSystem type plan) over an additional 20lbs on the scale.

This woman is!
My husband buys his clothes through catalogs. They always fit. I can’t do that. Nothing fits, and I am always returing it ( at my expense!).
But the fact is that you don’t have to be rich or even financially comfortable to be fit and thin.
Yep.
And yes, to eat all the fresh fruits and veges, those 3 servings of dairy, whole grain breads and cereals, ,lean meats etc....plus no fast foods etc can be quite pricey.
You can have her. I don’t want her. She’s too thin for me!
LOL!
You want to go moonbat barking mad? Volunteer on a eating disorders unit sometime.
Talk about obsessing over nothing! You’ll see beautiful girls freaking out because of one winky wrinkle of what might be cellulte on a thigh.
Geemanettie! And I have a friend that I love, but when she calls me, half the conversation is about how much she exercised and how much she didn’t eat.
Yep,
and what worries me is what is being considered ‘fat’ these days.

Depends on where you live. In major metro areas, the rules are quite harsh. Anything less than athletic is a no-no.
I have a friend like that!!! Major financial crisis (marital troubles) husband realized the gym membership (w/tanning included) and her ‘special diet’ (bought NS on QVC) was costing over $600 per month (on their Visa). She ‘needs’ to stay slim.
