Scripture documents a number of times when God caused the Israelites to wander in the desert and / or be relegated to captivity by, and slavery to, their enemies because the Israelites fell into His disfavor.
Maybe your evil globalists are the modern day Assyrians or Babylonians with whom God intends to correct the behavior of His people... again.
