Duncan Hunter Soldiers On Despite Iowa Results

He is the invisible man of the 2008 presidential campaign. Next to him Rep. Ron Paul looks over covered by the media. Yet California Rep. Duncan Hunter continues to campaign in New Hampshire, despite not even winning a single percentage point in Iowa last night. Although Democratic Senators Joe Biden and Chris Dodd who left the race last night, or Rep. Tom Tancredo who did two weeks ago, Hunter says he plans to continue his quixotic quest for the Republican presidential nomination.

"He is forging ahead using tried-and-true tactics for New Hampshire, albeit on a small scale given his meager campaign finances," Copley News reports. "Although he is essentially skipping today's Iowa caucuses and is overshadowed by just about every other candidate here, Hunter continues to talk of placing third - at least - in this state's first-in-the-nation primary on Tuesday."

"The only thing that stands between us and high numbers in the polls right now are media coverage and money," he said.

Perhaps.

Money would certainly help his quest. Although he has raised around $1.9 million overall, he has about $132,000 on hand, and is unlikely to raise more after his non-finish in Iowa last night. And he's not going to get much media exposure, considering he has been excluded from the two televised debates that will be happening over the next few days in New Hampshire.

"My motto in politics is never complain," Hunter said. "My trademark for 26 years has been, 'Don't whine. Keep working' "

Enough already, you’ve made your point. We are trying to ensure our country doesn’t become the 3rd-world sh1t-hole you “lesser of two evils” sycophants have nearly allowed it to become.

Not Quite. Not all million vets volunteered for combat duty in the Airborne rangers.

Not all went on to law degrees and opened their own practice.

Not all got elected to Congress with the Gipper in 1980.

Not all were Reagan’s soulmate and righthand man in the House.

Not all formed the Conservative Opportunity Society in the 1980s with Newt and Vin Webber that led to the Contract with America and the 1994 GOP revolution.

Not all have served 27 years on the Armed Services Committee or chaired it for 4 years.

Not all are bona fide military experts.

Not all are rock ribbed conservatives.

Not all represent the last vestiges of the Reagan wing of the Party.

Not all have by far and away the most impressive record on military matters and ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.

Not all avoided stupidity such as suing gun manufacturers and marching in gay pride parades (rudy).

Not all avoided being a moderate, middling Senator falling for Algores global warming wet dream and pushed us towards a binding international treaty (fred).

Not all avoided wiping their butts with the 1st amendment (Fred and McCain).

Not all avoided pandering to illegal aliens through their careers and raising taxes like a democrat (huck).

And not avoided running to the left of Ted Kennedy to get elected in Mass and becoming a flip-flopper extraoridinaire (Mitt).

Sad that it was not even necessary for the media to ignore him since there is no market for an actual conservative in the Republican party any longer.

At this point, I'm looking for a major Republican meltdown this election year as conservatives realize this fact of life.

Why are you crying? Have you seen Freds latest NH numbers? Tied with Hunter and Keyes at 1%.

Myth Romney taking credit for Duncan Hunter's fence, in Romney's flier.
The information of Hunter's fence should have been in ..... Duncan Hunter's flier, etc.

Romney should apologize. But Duncan will have to get in line behind so many others.

None of the below are conservative!

And so by holding your breath till you turn blue and throwing yourself on the floor in a tantrum, MAGICALLY, "your guy" will win? Sorry, in the adult world, it takes more than that to win a nomination for POTUS.

Hunter’s lousy (and wrong) position on free trade hurts him the most. I could never support someone like him.

Just believe me when I say that Duncan Hunter is my dream candidate and a fantastic, stand-up guy. But he hasn’t done what it takes to get the nomination. The facts speak for themselves.

Hehe.

I was just trying to pull Pissant’s chain because he posted a “Goodbye Fred” thread earlier today.

Duncan’s a great guy and I would gladly pull the lever for him in November.

But for now, Fred’s my first pick.

And the difference is I never complain about Fredheads bashing Hunter. I just fight back.

Not me crying....just the Duncan whiners. They seem to not be able to look at the numbers and know it's over and has been for some time.

I know they will resort to some low-brow remark after this post, but it's pretty clear.

Duncan has had a whole year to get his name recognized, he hasn't.

He has had a whole year to put his face in front of the cameras, he hasn't.

Duncan has had a whole year to get his positions to the people who vote, he hasn't.

Last, but certainly not least, Duncan's whole campaign staff has had a whole year to present their guy to the country, and they have failed on a GRAND scale.

Stick a fork in Duncan. He's done.

There will be no answer to that. Please allow me to add, if you will: Not all (any) were presidential candidates who tried to get our borders secured before their bid for the WH. Not all recognized and acted on the ChiCom threat to our national defense and manufacturing base.

From the Obviously-in-line-already Department.

National Guard Lt. Anthony Circosta poses in his backyard in Agawam, Mass., on June 9, 2007.
At left, his wife Danielle and daughter Kylie, 2, talk near the swing set. Circosta,
a decorated Iraq War veteran, seemed like an ideal candidate for a pardon from
then-Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney for the 29-year-old's boyhood conviction
for a BB gun shooting. Romney denied the pardon, twice, despite the recommendation of the governor's council.
