Are you kidding? The WSJ is one of the most conservative national publications.

Here is the link from Morris which puts some perspective into Huck. I suspect the truth is somewhere in between what Morris is saying and what the club for growth is saying. But, my point is is that there are different types of conservatives and I do not believe that a stance one way or the other on the religous right issues defines a person as conservative or a liberal. If Huck is aliberal as you say then those of us who are secular and notinclined to the religous right issues are not lib’s as many of you are bound and determined to say.

oops here is the link

The WSJ is one of the most conservative national publications

The WSJ runs an annual editorial calling essentially for an open-borders immigration policy, they routinely miss the mark on issues like eminent domain, and they defend globalism at every turn. This is the worst from of conservatism that I can imagine. In fact, it is revolutionary, not conservative.

Huck is trying to preempt/take as his own, the democrat's southern/prairie strategy.

Re-unite the cultural populists(republicans) and the economic populists(democrats) as one group, "Moral Populists"

Are you aware of his record as governor? I am scared of a Huckabee presidency because of his RECORD in Arkansas, not because of what any “elites” are telling me. Huck became more and more liberal the longer he was governor and has now created his own brand of Christianity where the government should run our lives and be responsible for what we do. If you want to continue to support Huck after you are fully aware of his record, be my guest. But please inform yourself of why he has so little support among true conservatives, especially Arkansans.

A man (who wants to be POTUS!) should be judged by his record, not his campaign rhetoric.

What drives this Huck hatred is the establishment being threatened by someone they cannot control.

No. It's driven by looking at his record.

The money players would have us believe we are electing Joe Stalin if we vote for Huckabee.

"Money players"? You mena anyone what doesn't want their money sucked into the black hole of big government?

Huck also doesn't resemble Stalin, because staling was completely anti-religion. Huck bears more of a resemblance to Jimmy Carter.

I'd trust Mike Huckabee before I'd trust the Wall Street Journal.

I don't particularly trust either. You're offering a false choice, not a real argument.

Where your treasure lies is where your heart lies also (to paraphrase Jesus).

Huck apparently wants our treasure to lie with the government. When you give money to a good Church, you have a good chance of that money going to a good cause.

When you raise taxes, you put the government in control of that money, and it often gets directed towards amoral or immoral uses.

Christianity is best served by a small federal government and allowing the people to direct how their money is spent and who it helps.

People are better served by a small federal government and allowing people to direct how their money is spent and who it helps.

BTTT

PS- Why is it that everybody who dislikes Huckabee is elite or “establishment types”. If Ed Rollins isn’t the establishment, I don’t know what is.

It’s seeming Huckabee’s supporters are becoming the party’s elite.

As Huckabee said- “We’ve learned that people really are more important then the purse,” Huckabee said Thursday night.”

Because being anti-establishment is cool. Therefore if people are against you, they must be part of the "establishment". It is kind of strange hearing it from Huckabee supporters because it is something you would expect more from a Ron Paul supporter.

As Huckabee said- “We’ve learned that people really are more important then the purse,” Huckabee said Thursday night.”

People are more important than the purse. The government isn't the the people, nor is giving money to the government a good way of helping the people. People that don't get that aren't conservatives.

Huckabee is the candidate of the religious left, not the religious right. Those who are religious and conservative need to wake up and start paying attention to Huckabee's record.
