For those not familiar with it, FOB Fenty is what used to be referred to as Jalalabad airfield, or JAF.
The good news is that it has perhaps the best winter weather in Afghanistan, so if the planes can get out of Bagram, landing is no trouble.
It is much tougher at a place like FOB Sharana, where the ‘airfield’ is at 7500’ and often socked in with clouds and fog. It can go weeks at a time without deliveries.
