Thompson has already and long since said his support of that legislation was a mistake.

And Mitt Romney SAYS he's pro-life, too despite his record. Yet we seem to give Freddie a pass on this one.

Where has he been? He practically dropped out of sight and now he’s double digits behind.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Fred's been going like crazy in Iowa. The latest polling I've seen (very recent) has Fred at 16% in Iowa.

Even before Fred started his Iowa swing, Fred's schedule was equal to the other candidates. I believe that this was checked and it was discovered that Fred Thompson had the second busiest schedule of all the Republical candidates.

What you are noticing is the strange phenomenon that the MSM won't cover Fred. Now you and I can speculate why that might be, but you ought to beware of buying the conventional wisdom that says Fred's a no-show, because it is a lie.

Somebody on another thread said that if Fred came in first in the Iowa caucuses, the MSM would report that Huck came in a strong second with Myth right behind, never bothering to mention that Fred won. There is a lot of truth in that speculative observation.

The two things are hardly comparable. In Romney’s case we had a lifelong, very explicit and very emphatic, pledged and promised pro-choice guy suddenly change 180 degrees.

In Fred Thompson’s case he backed a single piece of legislation he now says he wouldn’t have done. Like I say, hardly comparable.

If Fred Thompson had been campaigning for 20 years to repeal the First Amendment, then one day decided to run for President as a free speech advocate, you’ld have someone you could compare to Mitt Romney.

I’ll be calling active GOP to try and get them to come to the caucus and support Thompson.

You’ve been calling, but what is the mood or results of your calls?

I have put together a "Fred Thompson" e-mail group. I try not to bombard them with too many of these pro-Fred threads as it could be too much.

Since I live deep in Steve King territory, I did send the Ann Coulter quote this am.

Of those you know who are going to the caucus, how do the votes shake out? It's amazing that almost everyone I know is supporting Fred.

It's taken months but it is now clear that Republicans only have two conservatives running for president. They are Fred Thompson and Duncan Hunter. Hunter has zero chance but if we all get together, maybe Fred has a chance.

Did you see what Ann Coulter said about Steve King's endorsement of Fred? She said Steve King is the best man in DC and his endorsement of Fred is huge.

Also, if Steve is the best man in DC, Bill Salier is one of the best men not in DC and his endorsement is important. Those who knew Bill from his senate run against Ganske do not forget him. He is incredible. Go, Fred.

I’m on the ground here in Iowa and I agree with every word you said.

Im flumoxed—Thompson makes me gag on my first amend words. He does not like them.

You're wrong there. What Fred didn't like, and the main reason he supported CFR, was the anonymous big donors giving money to push their candidate and bash the opposition, with NO accountability. He would love to have individuals figure prominently in the fundraising, and feel 'ownership' of their government again.

Mormons use NOT the KJV but Joseph Smith's translation, i.e., dropping and changing key phrases to suit his 'revelation'.

Merry Christmas -- all about CHRIST, who is NOT a created being. He is the immutable Alpha and Omega, the Great I AM, and is and has been and will be with the Father and Holy Spirit forever as part of the Holy Trinity. It is He, OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, who holds the world together by his Word.

Merry Christmas..you know..what is not being discussed anywheres, (that I’ve read or seen) is that when Romney implodes..becauses he failed to win both Iowa and NH, (and his entire strategy was based on winning those two to propel him into Super Tuesday)..then the vast majority of Romney supporters are going to go to Fred..

My guess is that Rush will throw his hat in with Fred within a few weeks,

I'm always amazed at the number of Freepers who don't listen to Rush.

No pass. Fred is believed because he's an honest man.

Romney's a pandering, flip flopping slickmeister. And not to be trusted.

Thank you for pointing out that Mormons use the King James version of the Bible.

That's about the only thing the Mormons get right.
