Blunt, Nixon compete to appear tough on illegal immigrants

Excerpt:
Missouri's gubernatorial candidates are competing in a one-upsmanship
contest to appear tough on illegal immigrants.

SNIP

Republican Gov. Matt Blunt and his Democratic challenger,
Attorney General Jay Nixon, each announced a series of initiatives
against illegal immigrants last week. Their actions underscore how
illegal immigration has become a hot issue in U.S. politics.

SNIP

From their flurry of proposals, Missourians might get the
impression that illegal immigration is big problem in this state.

The Pew Hispanic Center, a Washington-based research organization,
used census figures to estimate there are 12 million illegal
immigrants in the United States - an amount more than twice
the population of Missouri. But barely one-half of 1 percent of
those illegal immigrants live in Missouri, according to the
center's state-by-state estimates.

Viewed from Mid-Missouri, this is an interesting article written
to make Missourians look like racist xenophobes.

In reality, Missourians just got tired of small, piece-meal
invasions of Missouri, such as the "roofers" that came in
summer 2006 and many didn't ever really leave.

And the recent illegal that caused a head-on in Columbia, MO
(Link in following post)

Unlike California where politicians try to out-do each other
in giving away the state and it's resources to ILLEGALS...
Missouri is following the models of Arizona, Oklahoma and
a few other states that know that the best place for Illegals is
in "sanctuary cities"...and out of OUR state.

And I might add that Democrate Attorney-General Jay Nixon is
busy playing catch-up with Governor Blunt (R)!!!!
Nixon watched how Blunt (and even Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill)
are getting praise, not censure for defending the USA against
invasion...so Demo Jay Nixon is working hard to burnish his record.
What a weasel!

might become the “Poster Child” for repelling the influx of Illegals

I think its great that the issue is being touted as such...

Finally...

I always said the three top issues
(if any candidate chose to step up and keep hitting those three at EVERY train stop):

—illegal immigration ENFORCEMENT...Period, and work with the local officials to actively assist and make it uncomfortable for this to continue at the rate it has been for much too long!!!

— Gun Control (in reference to the pending Supreme Court review of the D.C. gun ban) and supporting the absolute individual right to keep and bear arms with no conditions or infringements and actively and publically work to remove existing infringements!!!

— Fair Tax...Need I say more...

If that platform comes to a candidate running for the top job, thats the person that’ll win this thing...

Thats just my opinion...

They are still using the stupid 12 million figure! For six years they have been throwing this figure out while millions upon millions have snuck in. I personally think it is now closer to 40 to 50 million. Also, the figure in the state of Missouri, is probably 5 times higher than was quoted.

It should be really easy to campaign against any Democrat candidate’s assertion that they are tough on illegals after what the Congressional Democrats did to the fence and sanctuary city measures in private after voting for them in public. Every Republican should campaign on the now easily proved claim that the Democrats are frauds on this issue.

None of those Democrats who voted for those measures are up in arms about the removal of those measures from the bill.

I repeat your to-the-point comment.
And in most places of the country, that should be a "sharp weapon"
that Republicans can well employ in their election bids.

But, as an amateur observer of politics, there are two exceptions
that I can think of:

1. Too many Republicans are de facto advocates for ILLEGAL
immigration. Those with a track record of support/"switchbacking"
on the issue of ILLEGAL immigration
(Republican Senator Sam "Switchback" Brownback comes to mind)
would be obvious hypocrites for employing this strategy.
(I almost forgot to include Mike Huckabee in the same ranks
of hypocrites as Sam Brownback.)

2. Some states/locales are conflicted about doing "the right thing"
about the invasion of ILLEGAL immigrants. This includes otherwise
virtuous folks (often church/temple - going folks) that think the
answer to the invasion of ILLEGALS is to bend over and become a
doormat by having shown "Christian charity" thus letting
their hometowns be swamped by the influx of illegals...
when their nice hometowns will just end up a hideous combination
of Mexican bribery/corruption and the MS-13 gang activities
(murder by hacking machete wounds) that typify the places these
immigrants come from.

Sadly, one of those places could be Missouri.
With a bit of "Southern gentility", they voted in The Widow Carnahan
to the US Senate when John Ashcroft was the obviously more experienced
candidate.
Even at my parents' conservative church, there are some congregants ready
to bend over to aid/abet the invasion by the illegals.
My parents are conflicted, but upset at this and are not contributing
to this tacit approval of Illegal Immigration.

And, to my relief so far, Blunt (and even some "Me Too" Democrats)
are also showing they are not only NOT going to turn Missouri over to
ILLEGALS. They are actually going to FIGHT the invasion by illegals.
I hope it's a trend that continues and accelerates.
I lived a decade in Los Angeles and got to see some of the slow,
steady decline as the beautiful town turns into North Mexico City.

I am about COMPASSIONED out!!! The unbelievable transformation of my little out of the way nowhere-ville over the past 5 years is truly amazing.

Given that government sponsors UNION wages, I just can't wait to get the tax bill for allllll the non-UNION jobs, once the leftists decided to go to court and demand restitution for cheap wages.

I'm just an amateur observer of the attempts at "comprehensive
immigration reform".
But I think I know how that bill for "restitution for cheap wages"
was going to be presented (in part) to the US Government/Treasury.
And THEN presented to you, me and all the other law-abiding citizens
of the USA to cover an emptying of The US Treasury (and that of
some states treasuries.)

Once the "comprehensive immigration reform" package would have passed,
requiring the Feds agencies to "bend over" and "greenlight"
lots of things for the "normalized" illegals...
MILLIONS of illegals would probably have been able to generate
what would be otherwise questionable/unacceptable wage information
(handwritten W-2s/1099s) even not listing the name of the employer
(hey, a lot of the labor was done more casually than pick-up prostitution),
and would make sure they listed as many children/offspring
even though they may not have been in the USA (or Canada/Mexico,
which are acceptable for dependency status) during the claimed years.

Well, to cut to the chase, they'd have been allowed to back-file
tax returns for at least three prior year...getting NICE REFUNDS,
made fat by extra claimed dependents and the Earned Income Tax Credit
(EITC).

And if any brave Senator/Congressman had protested that a bunch
of FRAUD was draining the US Treasury, the IRS/Government would
have shut up and bent over after the wails of "Racism!"
and "Xenophobia" were aired about the IRS's scrutiny of "normalized" alien
tax returns.

My even uglier suspicion is that the normal three-year limit on
Tax Refunds would have been totally dropped...allowing claims
of tax refunds for maybe decade(s) based on filing of questionable
prior-year tax returns.

Robert Rector warned about the total cost of "comprehensive
immigration reform"...
Thank G-d many Americans listened...
too bad not enough did.

Oh, and yes, you and I would eventually get the bill for this
"restitution for cheap wages" in our Fed and state tax bills.
Probably for the rest of our lives, as many (not all) "normalized illegals"
would have learned how to get a yearly pay-check from the FED/State
by playing games with their tax returns. And would be fairly immunized
from IRS/Tax Agency scrutiny because of bomb-throwing of charges
of "Racism" and/or "Xenophobe" if anyone dare questions their
long-term draw from the US Treasury.

THANK YOU!!!

I have been insisting for years that the 12 million figure was waaaayy stale, and that with the continuing stream of infiltrators and their aggressive birth rate, the numbers had to be much closer to 50 million.
