Hillary Clinton Thursday hurled the dirtiest four-letter Democratic epithet to describe arch-rivals Barack Obama and John Edwards: Bush.
With another four-letter word - Iraq - fading from headlines, Clinton insisted the world is still too dangerous to trust anyone less experienced than she is.
She said choosing a candidate simply because they are more likable - a thinly veiled reference to Obama and Edwards - would repeat the 2000 mistake of electing George W. Bush, a then-Texas governor with a regular guy reputation and little foreign policy chops.
"It is tempting anytime things seem quieter for a minute on the international front to think that we don't need a President who's up to speed on foreign affairs and military matters," said Clinton, with ex-Ambassador Richard Holbrooke and former Gen. Wesley Clark at her side in Iowa.
"Well, that's the kind of logic that got us George Bush in the first place," she zinged.
Clinton's iron-fisted slap on foreign policy, which aides said had been long planned, came amid a Hawkeye State blitz to sell Iowans on her sensitive side.
In New Hampshire, Obama did not directly respond to Clinton's comments, but pointed out she backed Bush with a vote to authorize the Iraq invasion while he consistently opposed the war.
And he noted her husband, Bill Clinton, endured attacks about his experience in 1992 as an upstart Arkansas governor running for the White House.
"There's always this kind of thing. But, fortunately, the American people, I think, have a different attitude. They think the experience I have is very relevant to bringing about change. That's why we're doing well," he said.
The Clinton camp also pounced on a report that Obama frequently voted "present" on controversial issues as a state senator, rolling out Reps. Anthony Weiner (D-Brooklyn/Queens) and Joseph Crowley (D-Queens/Bronx) to paint him as lacking courage to take a stand.
Obama told ABC's "Good Morning America" he often voted that way if "there was some element in the bill that was unconstitutional or had problems."
Edwards jumped on the former First Lady for a mailer sent out by a pro-Clinton independent labor group that made it appear he was attacking Obama.
His team said, "Iowans deserve better than . . . campaign flyers designed to fool them."
Obama is a moron and Breck Girl is a fop ... but neither of them have the dark seething evil that is the hildebeast
The Iron Pantsuit speaks.
"Well, that's the kind of logic that got us George Bush in the first place," she zinged.
Funny, that's how we got Bill Clinton.
I've always believed that Hillary (and Billy Goat) are certifiable nut cases.
Actually, W’s Father gave us Bill and it looks like W will complete the cycle by giving us Hillary.
THIS.
If one of them beats the hildebeast, then we should be very afraid!
Was that the same stump speech window dressing stooge known as Wesley (I order you to bomb the Russians) Clark?
Yeah that Clintanoid experience is priceless alrighty. and I hope nobody is planning on producing any aspirin in the next 8-9 years.
I have more foreign affair experience than that stupid B—ch has and that is not much.
Except that she has no foreign affairs experience, or any other that I can identify except her experience in shady cattle and real estate investment deals, document destruction and bimbo-eruption management. As near as I can tell, all she would bring to the Oval Office is dishonesty, a full set of bad, failed, 60s radical-style ideas and a tolerance for vice and illegal immigration.
So much for "experience".
but...but... being on her knees before the great one..Oh that was Monica!
THAT'S Hillary Clinton's foreign policy experience, in a nutshell.... kissing liar terrorists.
