Murtha, a Democrat who represents much of Washington County and all of Greene County, was a staunch supporter of the war in Iraq, but, in November 2005, he changed his position and called for an immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops.

Huh? I must have missed that one.

True. Murtha turned a 180 on the war when it looked politically opportune to do so. Soon he will do another 180 and tell his constituents he was for the war all along and anybody that says different is a liar....

My younger brother is a captain of armor who is serving a third tour in Iraq and he met Murtha at his base during a stateside rotation in 2004.

At that time Murtha expressed strong support to my brother and his fellow officers about their mission.

As my brother says now: "That scumbag looked at me right in my eyes and lied to me."

He definitely made a full show of supporting our troops until the second the polls showed that the majority of Americans had started thinking like cowards. Then he became Sheehan's pet water buffalo overnight.
