Clinton Under A Harsher Microscope?
Washington Post ^ | 12/19/2007 | Howard Kurtz

snip...

Clinton's senior advisers have grown convinced that the media deck is stacked against them, that their candidate is drawing far harsher scrutiny than Barack Obama. And at least some journalists agree.

"She's just held to a different standard in every respect," says Mark Halperin, Time's editor at large. "The press rooted for Obama to go negative, and when he did he was applauded. When she does it, it's treated as this huge violation of propriety." While Clinton's mistakes deserve full coverage, Halperin says, "the press's flaws -- wild swings, accentuating the negative -- are magnified 50 times when it comes to her. It's not a level playing field."

Welcome to the GOP's universe, Hillary. How are you liking it?

Must be the vaunted New York press corps that we were told would mercilessly scrutinize her first Senate campaign. Nice to see them coming around.

"She's just held to a different standard in every respect,"

She holds herself above everyone else, why shouldn't she be held to a higher standard? She touts her 35 years of "experience" as why is is most qualifies to be POTUS.

Where's the hurl alert? This is the first time in umpteen years I've actually been physically nauseated by something I've read here.

Maybe it’s because of the numerous crimes the Clintons committed while in charge of the White House, as well as before and after. Maybe because of cattle futures, Whitewater, Rose Law Firm billing reecords, Travel Office tampering, destroyed lives left and right, the media wants to make sure this cannot get out to the public and destroy the Democratic party. The media knows Hillary is unelectable, and will make the Dems look bad when they get poasted in 2008. They will turn on her, but it doesn’t matter - the Democratic party is toast.

What part of the phrase “sense of proportion” do the underachievers at the WaPo not understand? What clowns. Of course, with such excellence of analysis, they can all graduate to Time after the WaPo goes out of business. (This’ll give ‘em at least another 6 months of employment.)

OMG!! I really will not be able to stand to listen to a whiny Administration for 4 years if Hillary gets in. Has she not witnessed the character assassination of President Bush over the last 7 years? A few bad stories and she and her cronies have to go crying in the streets?

Islamo-fascists around the world are HOPING that this sniveling woman acquires the White House.

And she's a weasel. Even the lefties realize that and they want to keep an eye on her, too.

Kurtz has got to be kidding. The only time she got a miniscule challenge was Russert, and then they whined for weeks about it. She’s had nothing but a free pass for over 15 years. This is nothing but the start of the MSM going into full rescue Hillary mode.

Santa Claus is drawing far harsher scrutiny than Barack Obama.

There is absolutely no one on the planet getting the free ride that Obama is getting. That doesn't mean that the rat media is not giving Hillary! a pretty darn good deal.

Compared to what the GOP candidates are getting she has nothing to complain about.

Hey Mark, your paper just declared Putin "Person of the Year". I don't think your comments hold much water.
