We were ice qualified and flew C-141's to antarctica frequently back in the early 70's. Little America and McMurdo.

This particular C-141 is the stretch version. They did that in the late 70’s. Giving it the ability to refuel in flight and putting two crews on board allowed it to litterally fly forever.
