Boehner admits GOP money situation ‘sucks'

“Now the money sucks for two reasons,” Boehner said in a Politico interview. “People are mad at the president; they are mad at the party. And then [there is] this whole immigration fight. People just turned off the spigot.”

Boehner has undertaken a study, consulting corporate image experts, to “re-brand” the party. But so far, no big ideas have emerged. Some of his own colleagues regard Boehner as more of a transitional figure, between the Gingrich-DeLay era (in truth, both men drove Boehner to distraction) and the next generation of leadership.

"consulting corporate image experts, to “re-brand” the party."

Yeah, that's the ticket.

Be very sceptical of anything you read in The Politico. Very.

Be skeptical of most anything. But I have read about the GOP’s money situation in many sources.
I sent them several “Bush Pesos”, myself.

Rebrand the party back to the party of Ronald Reagan and I would open my wallet again. But, your branding has to be backed by action, not just platitudes.

Rebranding? How about concentrating on cutting off the illegal immigration, and pulling up on the apparent lack of will on the expiring tax cuts? And follow that by a serious effort to cut the “earmarks” to a bare minimum in total funds and number (not that these shenanigans will ever stop completely). But enough so it stays below the radar.

People are mad at the president; they are mad at the party.

Spending like a drunken sailer with a stolen credit card, doing everything possible to keep the border open (including imprisoning border agents, feet dragging on the fence and amnesty bill attempts) lack of a conservative party vision, either no response or a gutless response to traitors in congress - gee what's to mad about?

Damn straight, we have. Individual targeted donations to true conservative candidates and perhaps a few “anybody but the RAT” donations for the general election. But when national throws away our money for RINOs like Specter and Chaffee, forget it. We don’t trust you to do the right thing. Either the Republican Party gets back to conservative fundamentals or it will be replaced.

Here's several ideas:

1. How about the President admitting he was wrong on the Amnesty issue and committing to shutting the border and real employment enforcement and then really implementing both!
2. How about the President, and the GOP, admitting they were wrong about fiscal matters. And then actually doing something about it. 3. How about forgetting about re-packing the party and going back to first-principles?

There are real simple solutions to this problem and the end result would be a blow-out Republican win in 2008!

It will take some backbone, and you will have to actually promote and implement conservative solutions, however, we all know you can do this if you want too!

And the GOP still seems to be trying to pass shamnesty.

The “people” are not as mad at the President as much as they are disgusted with the spineless Republicans in Congress over the past few years.

No light bulbs lighting up over your head?

Heres an idea. Why don't you hire some image consultants to “rebrand” the party.
Maybe the democrat party can help with that. - Oh wait - you are already doing that...

Hmmmm. Hey, I know! Why don’t you just get money from those illegals? Yeah, there's your new cash cow.

I am a Reagan conservative and I will not give a penny to a party running a Rudy the RINO type.
I have not changed, I am a conservative.
The G.O.P seems to have changed,. When in power they acted like damn dems, spending like they had an unlimited budget.
Kissing up to liberals is not my idea of a good thing and I will not support the G.O.P until and unless they revert to conservative values.
Screw the homosexual agenda, big govt, abortion, gun control, AMNESTY.
Send me to a re-education camp like the communists do, seems the way things are going.
