ESR's Twelfth Annual Person of the Year
Enter Stage Right ^ | December 11, 2007 | Steven Martinovich

Posted on 12/11/2007 2:27:33 PM PST by gordgekko

People of Free Republic! For the 12th consecutive year Enter Stage Right is handing out its Person of the Year Award and we'd love your help in choosing the winner. Last year's winners were none other than U.S. President George W. Bush and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper...Who will it be this year?

FReepers have long been instrumental in picking the winner and we don't want that to change this year. If you'd like to vote for someone, just head on over to http://www.enterstageright.com/conyear.htm and fill out a ballot.

Deadline is December 31, 2007.

Our thanks in advance!

That ‘person’ thing still gets me.

We wouldn't want to take ultra qualified folk like Oprah, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary, etc. out of contention just because they're (reportedly) of the female persuasion, would we?

I tried to enter Jeanne Assam's name...but it would not take. Here's is y submittal if anyone else can get her name in there:

Name: Jeanne Assam

Reasons: She is the heroine of Colorado Spring's, New Hope Church. I nominate her because of her exhibition of truly great American qualities. Courage, faith, action, use of Bill of right's principles, namely the second amendment, valor, saving of many, many lives at great risk to her own, humility, being willing to seek, listen, and be guided by her faith and the voice of the Spirit within her.

What do you all think about nominating Jeanne Assam for this disticntion?

I tried to put her name in with this description:

Reasons: She is the heroine of Colorado Spring’s, New Life Church. I nominate her because of her exhibition of truly great American qualities. Courage, faith, action, use of Bill of right’s principles, namely the second amendment, valor, saving of many, many lives at great risk to her own, humility, being willing to seek, listen, and be guided by her faith and the voice of the Spirit within her.

If you agree...please nominate her and ping your lists todo the same.

I submitted General Petraeus with the following comment. He stood with honor when Congress tried to humiliate him. He has put in place a plan to finish the very difficult work in Iraq and have the US military complete their tasks with honor.

Well that is good and I thank you for that. Perhaps I will get rid of the “Person” next year ;-)
